The bookings for the Benelli 302R (Tornado 302) have officially commenced now. DSK Benelli showrooms all over India are accepting bookings at Rs 30,000 as the bike is expected to be launched in India soon.
The Benelli 302R is a fully faired bike that comes powered by a 300cc in-line twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The DOHC, fuel injected mill is capable of producing 38bhp of maximum power and 27.4Nm of peak torque. The motorcycle tips the scales at 190kg and is now Euro 4 compliant.
DSK Benelli has equipped the bike with 41mm upside down forks up front and a monoshock at the rear with adjustable preload. The braking duties are taken care of by a 260mm front dual disc with four piston caliper and a 240mm rear disc with a single piston caliper. We are expecting the company to offer ABS as standard, making the 302R the only motorcycle in this segment to come with the safety net and dual front discs.
DSK Benelli had to postpone the launch of this motorcycle earlier this year for the motorcycle to meet the BS-IV norms. Now that the BS-IV compliant model is ready, we expect it to go on sale soon. The 302R will go up against the Yamaha R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300. We expect DSK to price it very competitively at around Rs 3-3.2 lakh to attract more customers.
