Indian Motorcycles has produced the Scout LE. It features old-school highlights from the genuine accessory range to lend it a unique vibe. Only 10 of the Scout LE have been produced and will likely only be seen on Australian roads.
Starting with a standard Scout, Indian has added some genuine accessories from its wide range and given the bike some old-school highlights. The Scout LE has chrome wire wheels, a 1920’s solo tan leather seat and the tank has been finished with a custom handpainted two-tone paint job featuring a painted Indian war-bonnet.
The model name shares history with that with Burt Munro, who is “The World’s Fastest Indian”, and also the Scout which was the original bike of choice for the Wall of Death. The Scout was also the bike used by the Indian “Wrecking Crew”, a team of three racers who were very successful against the Harley-Davidson teams in post-World War II racing in the USA.
Producing 100bhp of power and a healthy 97Nm of torque, the liquid cooled 1131cc v-twin engine offers electronic fuel injection, counter-balancing and a 6-speed gearbox. Indian says the bike’s lightweight chassis enhances the manoeuvrability and fun factor for daily riding
The Scout LE won’t be headed to India as it is for the Australian market and is priced at $20,995 (Rs 10.6 lakh).
