Ampere Electric is expected to launch the NXG electric scooter in India soon. It was showcased as a concept at the 2024 Auto Expo and is based on the same platform as the existing NXU e-scooter that is designed for commercial applications. The NXG will most probably be the flagship offering from Ampere, sitting above the Primus in the pricing spectrum.
The NXG has been spied on testing a couple of times till now which has helped us decipher some information about the scooter. With an elegant and boxy bodywork and spacious footboard and seat, it seems to be a unisex scooter that might appeal to every member of a family. It will also get contemporary features like a seven-inch digital console and a full-LED lighting setup.
As per our information, the NXG will be propelled by a mid-mounted electric scooter and the battery range will be close to 120km. Moreover, it rides on 12-inch alloy wheels that are suspended by telescopic forks and dual springs. The test mule also sported a disc brake at the front while the rear brake should be of drum type.
The Ampere NXG is likely to be priced north of Rs. 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will compete against other premium electric scooters like Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, Vida V1, Bajaj Chetak, and TVS iQube.
E-bikes/scooters are the future of mobility. They are eco-friendly, mobile and revolutionary.
