Keeping with the company’s tradition, TVS will be unveiling three new concepts on February 3 at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. While the company has refused to divulge any kind of details about these concepts, we can expectTVS’ own version of the BMW G310R and a scooter to be a part of the exhibit.
The TVS and BMW alliance’s first offspring, the G310R, made its debut in November last year. Engineered at BMW’s development centre in Munich, this lightweight streetfighter will be manufactured at TVS’ manufacturing plant in Hosur. While this model will be badged as a BMW in a majority of international markets, the deal between the two manufacturers has allowed TVS to spawn off its own version to be sold in a few markets, including India. As the production model of this bike is already ready, we can expect TVS to unveil its own concept based on the G310R at the Auto Expo.
At the previous Auto Expo, TVS had showcased the Draken X-21 and Graphite, though only the former has inspired (well, at least cosmetically) a production model so far. The Graphite was a futuristic scooter inspired by stealth military aircrafts. It featured several innovative features like automated manual transmission (AMT), matrix LCD instrument console, vehicle information display, ride data, electronic key and an inbuilt immobiliser. While the Graphite never made it the production lines, we might get to see a more production-feasible version of this scooter at this year’s Auto Expo.
As for the third concept, its identity continues to be a mystery. We can expect more bits of information to be revealed as we get closer to the Auto Expo. Stay tuned to BikeWale for more updates.
