Suzuki recalls GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F

A technical glitch in the front brake calliper of the GSX-S1000 and the GSX-S1000F has led to Suzuki issuing a recall for these models in the US market. 

The affected GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F models were fitted with a faulty seal in the front brake piston cylinder. This insufficient sealing could lead to leakage of braking fluid over time, thereby damaging the surface of the piston cylinder and increasing the possibility of a crash. The affected GSX-S1000 bikes were manufactured between July 10 and August 24, while the affected GSX-S1000F bikes were rolled off the production lines between July 21 and July 27, this year. Suzuki has started notifying the owners and replacing the faulty front brake callipers, free of charge. 

As both these models were launched here in May 2015, there is a possibility that a few of the affected models might have been shipped to India as well. We are currently awaiting a response from Suzuki India regarding the status of the GSX-S1000 and the GSX-S100F models sold in India.
