Triumph has launched the 2021 edition of the Street Scrambler in India. The motorcycle serves as a standard version of the Scrambler Sandstorm that was offered in the country earlier this year. Here, we tell you all that you need to know about the motorcycle in five points.
Pricing
Let’s get the pricing out first. The new Street Scrambler costs Rs 9.35 lakh, ex-showroom. This makes it Rs 60,000 more affordable than the Scrambler Sandstorm edition. However, it is priced higher than its rival- the Ducati Scrambler Icon since it offers more electronics and features.
Styling
Sporting a traditional scrambler styling, the motorcycle gets high-set exhausts fitted on the right side, a circular headlamp, and knobby tyres. It is offered in three colours- Urban Grey, Jet Black, and Matte Khakhi / Matte Ironstone.
Engine
For 2021, Triumph has tweaked the Street Scrambler’s 900cc, parallel-twin engine to comply with BS6 emission norms. This motor produces 64.1bhp at 7,250rpm and 80Nm of peak torque at 3,250rpm.It is linked to a five-speed gearbox.
Hardware
The 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler’s suspension and braking hardware remain unchanged. It rides on 41mm telescopic front forks and twin-sided rear shocks. Meanwhile, its braking setup consists of a single 310mm disc at the front and a 255mm disc at the back along with dual-channel ABS. To complete its scrambler attire, the motorcycle also features 19-inch front/17-inch rear spoke wheels with knobby tyres.
Features
The list of electronic rider aids includes three riding modes- Road-Rain and Off-Road along with switchable ABS and switchable traction control. Moreover, the motorcycle also comes with a key-fob incorporated immobilizer and USB charging socket as standard.
