2017 Triumph Tiger Explorer spied testing in Europe

The 2017 Triumph Tiger Explorer has been spotted undergoing trials in Europe. The sole spy shot of the adventure touring motorcycle gives us a clear glimpse of what we can expect from this heavily updated model. 

While the bike’s engine and frame seem to have been left untouched, the new Tiger Explorer will get a different suspension and brake setup. Following the feedback from a survey sent to existing Tiger Explorer owners, Triumph seems to have adopted a semi-active suspension and cornering ABS for this new model. The test mule used Brembo brake callipers in place of the current bike’s Nissin units. Also, reports suggest that this bike might get the WP semi-active suspension from the KTM 1290 Super Adventure, which links itself to the riding modes and adapts according to the road surface, braking and acceleration. Besides this, the new Tiger Explorer will also benefit from a revised electronic package, featuring a new traction control. 

The new Tiger Explorer will also be updated cosmetically, and will feature revised body panels, an electrically adjustable windscreen and a new instrument cluster. As Triumph recently launched the 2016 Tiger Explorer in its several global markets, we can expect this model to go on sale in the later part of next year, as a 2017 model.
