I bought yamaha fz bs6 bike in kolkata in 3rd week of june 2020. Overall buying experience was good and staffs of tanushaka yamaha were professional. In terms of riding experience of bike, it's like butter smooth. Needless to say about the fabulous looks of fz series of motorbikes which is popular among youth.I experienced that bike lags at higher speeds over 60kmph. Below that speed(under eco mode) performance is very nice.Normally i ride my bike in eco mode and easily manage to get mileage around 50km/lit.Braking is very nice, it gives confidence to stop bike in short span of time. Rear brake is a bit light but front brakes are perfect.Did 1st servicing of bike on 3rd week of july, it cost me around rs400 & was light on my pocket.Pros- smarty looks and nice performance with decent mileage over 50km/lit.Compared to other bikes in this segment it offers more features like dual disk brakes, digital meter console.Cons- slightly lagging performance at higher speeds over 70kmph.

The Yamaha FZ-FI is a popular street motorcycle that combines stylish design, solid performance, and advanced features, making it a well-rounded choice for urban riders. Here’s a detailed review covering various aspects of the bike:Design and Build QualityThe Yamaha FZ-FI boasts a muscular and aggressive design, which is a signature of the FZ series. The bike's sculpted fuel tank, sharp LED headlamp, and sleek bodywork contribute to its streetfighter look. The build quality is robust, with a sturdy frame and high-quality materials used throughout. The attention to detail is evident in the fit and finish, giving it a premium feel.Engine and PerformanceThe FZ-FI is powered by a 149cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that produces around 12.4 HP at 7,250 RPM and 13.3 Nm of torque at 5,500 RPM. The Blue Core technology ensures efficient combustion and better fuel economy. While it may not be the most powerful engine in its class, it offers smooth and linear power delivery, making it ideal for city commuting. The bike's acceleration is decent, and it can handle short highway rides comfortably.Ride and HandlingOne of the standout features of the FZ-FI is its excellent handling. The bike feels nimble and responsive, thanks to its lightweight frame and well-balanced chassis. The wide handlebars provide good leverage, making it easy to maneuver through traffic. The suspension setup, with telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear, strikes a good balance between comfort and stiffness, absorbing bumps and undulations effectively.Braking and SafetyThe braking system on the FZ-FI is reliable, featuring a disc brake at the front and rear. The addition of single-channel ABS enhances safety by preventing wheel lock-up during sudden braking, providing better control. The brakes offer good stopping power and feedback, ensuring confidence-inspiring performance in various riding conditions.Comfort and ErgonomicsThe FZ-FI is designed with rider comfort in mind. The upright seating position, well-padded seat, and ergonomic handlebar placement ensure a relaxed riding posture, reducing fatigue on longer rides. The pillion seat is also reasonably comfortable, although it may be a bit cramped for larger passengers. The footpeg position is well-calibrated, offering a natural stance for both rider and pillion.Features and InstrumentationThe FZ-FI comes equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster that displays essential information like speed, fuel level, trip meter, and more. The negative LCD display is easy to read even under direct sunlight. Other notable features include LED headlamps and tail lamps, ensuring better visibility and a modern aesthetic.Fuel EfficiencyFuel efficiency is one of the strong points of the FZ-FI. The bike delivers an impressive mileage of around 45-50 km/l, depending on riding conditions and style. This makes it an economical choice for daily commuting, helping riders save on fuel costs.Price and Value for MoneyThe Yamaha FZ-FI is priced competitively in its segment, offering good value for money. Considering its stylish design, advanced features, reliable performance, and excellent fuel efficiency, it stands out as a strong contender in the 150cc segment. The cost of ownership is also reasonable, with Yamaha's reputation for durability and a widespread service network adding to its appeal.ConclusionThe Yamaha FZ-FI is a well-rounded motorcycle that excels in urban environments. It offers a perfect blend of style, performance, and efficiency, making it a great choice for city commuters and occasional highway riders. Its comfortable ergonomics, advanced features, and reliable braking system further enhance its appeal. While it may not be the most powerful bike in its class, its overall package is hard to beat, providing excellent value for money.Pros:Stylish and aggressive designSmooth and efficient engineExcellent handling and maneuverabilityComfortable riding positionGood fuel efficiencyReliable braking with ABSCons:Engine power could be higherPillion seats might be cramped for larger passengersLack of dual-channel ABSOverall, the Yamaha FZ-FI is a commendable motorcycle that ticks most boxes for urban riders looking for a dependable and stylish ride.

The buying experience was very nice. The bike looks amazing and muscular and it is very comfortable for riding on highways and in the city. Servicing and maintenance are a little expensive but the people doing the service are very polite and they listen to you. Pros: affordable bike, good mileage, good looks and power of the bikeCons: The body material is made mostly of plastic. Shock absorbers could have been better for the bike

FZ, the city bike

Smooth to ride. Getting a mileage of 55+kmpl. However, service costs at the Bangalore service center are on the higher side just because Yamaha does not do scrutiny on the dealers. Misses out on connected tech and dual-channel ABS. For city use and random highway rides, do not think and go for it. At the end of the day, I am also hoping the bike stays true to Japanese reliability genes.
