Suzuki GSX-S1000 Race edition unveiled in France

- Gets cosmetic upgrades over the standard bike

- Will be a limited-series model

- To be offered in the international market only

Suzuki has launched a limited edition model of its naked litre-class offering, the GSX-S1000. It gets the Race Edition tag and takes inspiration from the Japanese brand’s Endurance Racing Team. 

The new limited series model has the same design as the standard bike but gets new graphics and other mechanical tweaks. For starters, it comes painted in blue and dons golden coloured stickers on the fuel tank and side panels. Then, there’s the tail tidy, full GB racing engine and crankcase protection as well. Adding a slight touch of contrast are the red Brembo callipers. 

It draws power from a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four-cylinder engine with a maximum output of 152bhp. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox and Suzuki has also equipped the bike with an Akrapovic slip-on exhaust. Meanwhile, the suspension hardware comprises USD front forks and a monoshock whereas the braking setup consists of dual front and a single rear disc. The Suzuki GSX-S1000 Race Edition features LED illumination, a fully digital instrument console, ABS, traction control, ride modes and more. 

In France, the Suzuki GSX-S1000 is priced at EUR 16,999 (approximately Rs. 15.24 lakh sans taxes). However, Suzuki hasn’t made any announcements of bringing the bike to India.
