Indian Motorcycle has announced a recall for the Scout and Scout Bobber in the USA.
The issue addresses a faulty braking system and affects a total of 2,742 motorcycles. This includes 1,474 units of the Scout Bobber and 1,268 Scout motorcycles. According to the recall statement, air may get into the ABS components which can result in “possible reduction in brake performance, increasing the risk of a crash”.
Indian Motorcycle will notify owners of the affected motorcycles and dealers will bleed the brake fluid in the ABS system, free of charge. Moreover, the American manufacturer has also corrected the braking system assembly process at all its production facilities to prevent the issue. Currently, there is no word from Indian if the Scout and Scout Bobber sold in our country have been affected. Nevertheless, we recommend visiting the nearest dealership if the brake pedal or lever on your motorcycle has reduced feel and feedback.
