About Yamaha Alpha
Yamaha Motor India launched their third scooter, the Alpha at the 2014 Auto Expo. Developed specifically for the Indian market, the Alpha’s overall design is modern and stands out from the current range of scooters sold in India.
The Alpha is based on the concept of “Easy to go and high utility city mover”. The scooter gets a front telescopic suspension and an upright type suspension at the rear. The flat long seat has been designed to provide the rider and the pillion with decent amount of comfort. The scooter also boasts storage space of 21 litres that can easily accommodate half-face helmets.
The new Yamaha scooter is powered by an air-cooled 4-stroke 113cc engine with CVT (Continuous variable transmission). The company claims that his new engine delivers fuel economy of 62kmpl and also has smooth acceleration.
The Yamaha Alpha has been priced at Rs 49,518 (ex-showroom Delhi) and is available in eight colours - Rocking Red, Beaming Blue, Gleaming Gold, Magical Magenta, Brilliant Black, Graceful Grey, Fiery Red and Radiant White. It competes with the Honda Activa and the Suzuki Let’s.
