Vespa Notte: What else can you buy

The Vespa Notte was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo and was recently launched in India at Rs 70,285 (ex-showroom). Give or take Rs 10,000 from that price and you are spoilt with 18 other options. Here is the list of motorcycles and scooters you can buy at the price of the Vespa Notte.

The Notte is based on the Vespa LX125 which retails at Rs 73,261. It is powered by a 125cc engine that puts out 9.8bhp and 10.6Nm of torque. In the same showroom you can also look at the Aprilia SR125 and SR150 priced at Rs 66,076 and Rs 70,348 respectively.

The SR125 uses a 125cc mill similar to the Vespa Notte which produces 9.4bhp and 8.2Nm of torque. Meanwhile the Aprilia SR150 is powered by a bigger 150cc motor that is rated at 10.2bhp and 11.4Nm of torque.

Honda offers two scooters in this list, the Grazia and recently updated Activa 125. Both use the same 125cc engine that churns out 8.5bhp and 10.5Nm of torque. The Grazia costs Rs 60,695 while the Activa 125 is priced at Rs 61,245. TVS has the Ntorq 125 with a price tag of Rs 64,332. It uses a 124cc engine that puts out 9.1bhp and 10.5Nm of torque.

You could also buy the Suzuki Burgman Street which arrived only last week priced at Rs 69,981. The scooter’s 124cc mill churns out 8.6bhp and 10.2Nm of torque.

In the 125cc commuter motorcycle segment you have three options. There is the Honda CB Shine SP, Hero Glamour i3S and Hero Glamour FI. The CB Shine SP uses a 124cc engine that puts out 10.5bhp and 10.3Nm of torque. It is priced at Rs 63,673. The Hero Glamour i3S and Glamour FI are priced at Rs 61,262 and Rs 67,062 each. While the i3S variant’s 124cc engine puts out 11.4bhp and 11Nm of torque, the Glamour FI’s unit churns out 9.1bhp and 10.3Nm of torque.

If you want a motorcycle with a bigger engine capacity, Bajaj has two motorcycles on offer; the V15 and Pulsar 150. Powering the V15 is a 149cc engine producing 11.8bhp and 13Nm of torque. It retails at Rs 65,626. The Pulsar 150 also uses a 149cc engine although this unit produces a slightly higher output of 15bhp and 12Nm of torque. The Bajaj Pulsar 150 retails at Rs 74,138. You could also have the Honda CB Unicorn 150 at Rs 73,029. The bike is powered by a 149cc engine that produces 13bhp and 12.8Nm of torque. Also on offer are the Yamaha SZ RR V2.0 and the Hero Achiever priced at Rs 67,803 and Rs 66,250 respectively. The Yamaha uses a 149cc engine that produces 11.9bhp and 12.8Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Achiever 150’s 149cc unit produces 13.4bhpa and 12.8Nm of torque.

The list also included two 160cc motorcycles that you can opt for. The Honda CB Unicorn 160 carries a price tag of Rs 76,279. Its 162cc motor puts out 14.5bhp and 14.6Nm of torque. There is the TVS Apache RTR 160 at Rs 76,520. Powering the bike is a 150cc engine that is rated at 15bhp and 13Nm of torque.
