Triumph Street Twin EC1: Details Explained

Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the limited-edition Street Twin EC1 that will be available for one year only. The motorcycle will also be sold in the Indian market although its launch details are unavailable yet. While we await its Indian launch announcement, here we explain the new Triumph Street Twin EC1 in detail.

Styling

The new Street Twin EC1 retains the retro design of the standard motorcycle. However, this limited-edition model is distinguished from the standard motorcycle through its unique paint scheme. The new Street Twin EC1 uses a dual-tone Matte Aluminium Silver and Matte Silver Ice colour for the fuel tank along with hand-painted silver coach lining, dedicated EC1 graphics, and the Triumph logo.

The paint theme is carried over to the side panels that use a Matte Silver Ice paint and feature a new Street Twin Limited Edition graphic. The front and rear mudguards get Matte Aluminium Silver paint. Other styling elements on the EC1 variant include black 10-spoke wheels, a black headlamp bowl, black-finished mirrors, and black signature-shaped engine covers.

Accessories

Triumph Motorcycles offers over 120 optional accessories for the complete Street Twin series. The accessory range includes elements to further enhance the styling, protection, comfort, practicality, and luggage solutions. The EC1 special edition will further benefit from a Matte Silver Ice fly screen. All accessories are backed by a two-year/unlimited mileage warranty.

Features

The feature list is similar to the standard Triumph Street Twin, and the EC1 variant uses dual-channel ABS, switchable traction control system, and two ride modes (Rain and Road) as standard. An under-seat USB charger and an immobiliser incorporated into the key are also part of the standard package.

Engine

The Street Twin EC1 model retain the Euro5-compliant 900cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that is tuned to produce 64.1bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 80Nm of peak torque at 3,800rpm. The motor is linked to a five-speed gearbox that benefits from a torque assist clutch.

The Street Twin EC1 Special Edition continues to use 41mm cartridge front forks and preload adjustable twin rear shocks to handle the suspension tasks. The braking duties are performed by a single 310mm disc with Brembo four-piston calliper at the front and a single 255mm rotor with a Nissin two-piston calliper at the back.
