Like the Ninja 250R but find it to be too expensive? Kawasaki might just have a solution for you in the form of the Ninja RR Mono – an all-new single cylinder 250cc model designed and developed for the Asian markets.
The new Kawasaki Ninja RR Mono joins the standard Ninja 250R (which uses a more powerful parallel-twin engine) to form Kawasaki’s entry-level sports bike range. Design wise, the new Ninja RR Mono looks very similar to the standard model except for the single headlight unit and a different frame.
The Ninja RR Mono is powered by a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 249cc single cylinder engine which produces a claimed power output of 27.6 bhp and 22.6Nm of torque. The bike is slightly less powerful compared to its parallel-twin cousin; however, the former also weighs slightly less at 151 kg, which means both the bikes share a nearly similar power-to-weight ratio.
The bike uses the same set of 10-spoke wheels found on the standard Ninja 250 and the Ninja 300, however, the RR Mono gets slimmer tires.
Given that the bike has been designed for the Asian markets, the new Kawasaki Ninja RR Mono is likely to go on sale in Indonesia first, where it will be sold alongside the standard 250 with the parallel-twin engine.
