The adventure motorcycle market is booming worldwide and that’s why the manufacturers felt the need to have more than one version. And now Honda is joining the bandwagon too.
The Japanese manufacturer has showcased the concept version of the Africa Twin Adventure Sports on its official website. While at first glance, you won’t see a big difference between this concept and the Africa Twin, it’s been showcased to gauge the reaction of hardcore adventure tourers online. Cosmetically, this concept looks more rugged and tough with the introduction of a big aluminium bellypan. Other additions are a flatter motocross-style seat and new tail unit that sports an ‘Adventure Sports’ logo – the one that’s seen on the first generation Africa Twin.
Being a concept, Honda has taken off the indicators and the rear-view mirrors, but it might come with the production version, if it hits the production line. The engine, chassis and most of the bodywork are that of the African Twin, including the paint scheme. Honda hasn’t revealed its plans for this concept, but there might be a slight chance of the company introducing this motorcycle with the dual-clutch transmission model only.
Luckily, the Indian consumers will soon get to buy the Africa Twin in the next couple of months. But the best part is that it’ll be assembled in India and not imported from Japan.
