2018 BMW S1000RR spotted testing

The next-generation BMW S1000RR has been spotted testing in Europe. While the previous update gave the bike a cosmetic overhaul, a bump in power and a revised chassis, this new model seems to benefit from a few more significant upgrades. 

The spy shot shows the new BMW S1000RR featuring several changes to the chassis. The swingarm has been redesigned, the chassis shape is different while the bodywork has also been revised. The cosmetic updates are also significant and stray away from the bike’s current design language. Narrow headlamp, redesigned exhaust end can, new alloy wheels and redesigned vents give the S1000RR a fresh new look. The electronics package will also be revised while the instrument console is expected to get a colour TFT screen. 

Reports suggest a major upgrade for the inline-four engine, although there has been no confirmation from the company. Either way, we can expect a small jump in the power output while keeping it Euro-IV compliant. The new S1000RR is expected to debut at the 2017 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy, later this year.
