Yamaha India records 57 per cent growth in July 2013

Yamaha Motor India Sales has reported an increase of 57 per cent in sales during July 2013. The company sold 58,151 units in July 2013 as compared to 36,993 units in the corresponding month last year.

The Japanese two wheeler maker sold 37,494 two-wheelers in the domestic market that helped them increase their overall domestic sales by 35 per cent. Yamaha sold 27,858 units in the same month last year.  In the export markets, the company saw a significant increase of sales by 126 per cent where they managed to sell 20,657 units as compared to 9,125 units in the same month last year.

The company had recently recalled the 56,0922 Yamaha Ray scooter as they found the handle bar to have insufficient strength due to inadequate welding that may in worst case scenario have an impact on the steering operation. Due to this, the brand might have been affected but we aren’t sure if this will affect their future sales.
