TVS to launch two new motorcycles in Kenya in next two quarters

TVS will launch two new motorcycles in Kenya in next two quarters. These motorcycles have been specially designed and developed keeping the needs of African consumers in mind. Both the motorcycles will be assembled in company’s new inaugurated facility in Nakuru.

TVS has been selling their products in Kenya for the last 10 years through its partner, Car and General. The company currently has more than 75 dealers, 300 service points and around 2500 trained mechanics in the country. With these new launches, TVS is aiming to increase its market share to 40 per cent from current 27 per cent in Kenya. The company has recently concluded its trial production at its new facility and will soon roll out the TVS Star Series.

For the Indian market, TVS has confirmed to launch five new two-wheelers by December 2014 with two new products to be introduced in this fiscal year. The company is expecting to gain their losing market share in the Indian two wheeler market.

"We have just completed our trial and training period and will commence regular production of out TVS Star series of motorcycles from today. We also intend to launch two new motorcycles over the next two quarters," said K N Radhakrishnan, president and CEO, TVS.
