Hero MotoCorp has launched the new Xtreme 200S 4V in India to rival the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Suzuki Gixxer SF, and the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. This new version of the Xtreme 200S benefits from mechanical and styling upgrades.
The biggest change is the addition of a four-valve mechanism as against the two-valve unit on the 2V model. Notably, this motorcycle continues to use a 199.6cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine. Linked to a five-speed gearbox, this motor delivers 18.9bhp of maximum output at 8,000rpm and 17.35Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. It also complies with the OBD2 and E20 fuel requirements.
Apart from the mechanical revisions, Hero MotoCorp has also updated the visuals in the form of new colours and graphics. The paint themes for this motorcycle include three dual-tone colours – Moon Yellow, Panther Black Metallic, and Matte Axis Grey Metallic. Then, the 4V version comes with a clip-on-style handlebar instead of the flat unit on the two-valve variant.
Notably, the overall design of the four-valve variant remains similar to the two-valve version, and thus, the former packs a full-fairing, tinted visor, muscular fuel tank, step-up saddle, side-slung exhaust, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The feature list, too, is similar to the two-valve version, and the new Xtreme 200S 4V comes with an LED headlight, LED taillight, bulb-type turn indicators, and a Bluetooth-enabled full-digital LCD console. Apart from regular ride-related data, the console also shows the gear position, eco-mode indicator, service reminder, trip meter, and turn-by-turn navigation. Meanwhile, the safety net comprises a single-channel ABS and a side-stand engine cut-off function.
The hardware setup remains unchanged as well, and the new Xtreme 200S 4V retains telescopic front forks, a preload-adjustable rear monoshock, and disc brakes on both wheels. Further, this motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod in tubeless tyres.
