Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special [2018-2019] Summary
The Road Glide Special was one of Harley-Davidson’s first Milwaukee Eight models to be launched in India. Imported as a completely built unit (CBU), the Road Glide Special is positioned below the Street Glide Special in the company’s Touring range.
The Road Glide has always enjoyed cult status among Harley touring enthusiasts, thanks to its touring-focussed attributes. The frame-mounted fairing, LED headlamp, raised handlebars and a low seat make it perfect for long hauls. The Road Glide Special has a premium infotainment system with a 6.5-inch screen, ABS and a smart security system among other creature comforts.
Propelling the Road Glide Special is the Milwaukee Eight 107 engine. Rated at 151Nm of torque, the Milwaukee Eight 107 has a 45-degree V-twin configuration with four valves per cylinder. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. The Road Glide rides on 19-inch front and 16-inch rear cast aluminium wheels.
The Harley-Davidson Road Glide is offered in four paint schemes – black, blue, red and silver. It shares the market space with other heavyweight touring motorcycles like the Indian Chief Vintage and the Honda Goldwing.
