2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R: Details Explained

The 2022 model of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R has been launched in the American market. The supersport model is only available with a standard variant and is priced at USD 15,399 which converts to Rs 11.46 lakh. The company used to retail the Ninja ZX-14R in the Indian market which was then discontinued due to the BS6 emission norms. Engine

The 2022 model of the Ninja ZX-14R draws power from a 1,441cc inline four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that sits in a monocoque aluminium frame and comes mated to a six-speed transmission. This engine comes with digital fuel injection and power modes. There are two power modes on offer: Full Power that offers peak performance and Low Power that offers milder response and delivers approximately 75% of the total power output.

Design

The Ninja ZX-14R features a sleek and fluidic design. The fully-faired supersport model gets a windscreen at the front, a sharp 21.95-litre fuel tank, graphics on its fairing, underbelly pan, raised exhaust on both sides, fairing-mounted rear-view mirrors and a single rider seat. It is available in only Pearl Storm Gray/Metallic Diablo Black colour scheme which gets red highlights across its fairing and fuel tank.

Features

The supersport bike gets features like dual power modes, slipper clutch, three-mode Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), digital instrument cluster and dual-channel ABS. It is further offered with an economical riding indicator that helps the rider to extract the best efficiency from the supersport motorcycle.

Front Tyre

Hardware

The ride here is taken care of by a 43mm inverted cartridge fork with adjustable preload at the front and bottom-link Uni-Trak and gas-charged shock with adjustable preload suspension at the rear. For braking, it employs a 310mm dual floating disc with Brembo four-piston M50 monobloc calipers at the front and a 250mm single disc with a twin-piston caliper at the rear assisted by dual-channel ABS. The Ninja ZX-14R runs on 17-inch wheels. These wheels are wrapped in tyres having 120mm width at the front and 190mm width at the rear.
