The Street Glide Special joins the ranks in Harley-Davidson’s touring motorcycle family. It comes with all the comfort and entertainment you can get from a two-wheeler.
To begin with, it gets a large, batwing-style fairing that incompasses the rider and protects from windblast. It also gets a Boom! Box GTS infotainment system with two 5.25-inch speakers. Rge system connects to a riders smartphone via Bluetooth, providing call and music access as well as navigation. That said, it also comes with a full-colour TFT screen with voice recognition. It is also equipped with rider aids like modes, cornering ABS and traction control, vehicle hold control and TPMS.
Powering the Street Glide Special is a mammoth 1,868cc, V-twin engine that produces 92.5bhp and 158Nm and comes linked to a six-speed gearbox via belt drive system. The motor also gets a slipper clutch to prevent the rear wheel from locking up under aggressive downshifting. Weighing 387kg, the Street Glide incorporates a large 22.7-litre fuel tank for added convenience.
As for the cycle parts, the Street Glide Special rides on a 19-18-inch alloy wheel combination suspended by Showa’s 49mm telescopic forks with dual bending valve and dual springs. Bringing it to a halt is a single 300mm disc at both ends along with ABS.
