Well,it was the first bike I've owned for more than 6 years and driven more than 30k kms.

Ride experience is good,it's far better than other 125cc competitors.

Looks are kinda different and stylish which you don't get in any other bikes at this price range.

The engine is powerful as well as fuel efficient too.

Its worth spending your money on it.

Servicing and maintenance is not too high, its not gonna damage your pockets much.

Everything else is normal and a good value for money.

    Pros:-

1)no other powerful 125cc bike is this segment.

    2)fuel efficient.

3)comfortable ride experience(I've been on long tours)

4)the design you get is adorable.

    Cons:-

1)yamaha is not trusted for 125 cc bikes.

But i would recommend to just have a look at it once.

2)the extended fibre part which is a pro too catches dirt which needs to be cleaned to get a catchy look.

    1. I had booked the fz-16 back in 2014, but changed my mind & decided on the SS125 as I needed something lighter that my father could ride as well, the showroom re-arranged the paperwork without any issues.
    2. It has been a blissful experience riding this motorcycle. I practically learned riding on this bike. I have thrashed it as hard as possible for 7 years & 120000 kms; & it still revs buttery smoothly & there is never any vibration even at 100+ kmph
    3. Looks aren't as edgy as today's 125ccs but it's quite decent & it was ahead of its time & still is.
    4. Maintaining a yamaha has always been a bit on the expensive side, especially now that it is discontinued. But it doesn't require much maintenance unless you crash & break something. Just change the engine oil & tire etc at regular interval & the gladiator will last a lifetime
    5. Pros- crazy fast for 125cc, oodles of torque, very nimble, large fuel tank, engine kill switch(not even the tvs raider has one)
Cons- poor fuel economy, weak headlamps, no trip meters
"the SS125 is a tremendously sporty motorcycle when you are in the mood but otherwise is a gentle creature. The engine is ultra-refined, ride quality is great and in pure no-performance-only-commuting mode, a more peaceful motorcycle will be hard to find."-overdrive
