I like the yamaha ss125 after the smooth test ride. The bike is good in terms of comfort & pickup as well. Power engine, which is one of the best technologies which a bike can have. The ss125 has many cool features and affordable price.
I mostly like its suspension and powerful engine which gives me more comfort.

Well,it was the first bike I've owned for more than 6 years and driven more than 30k kms.
Ride experience is good,it's far better than other 125cc competitors.
Looks are kinda different and stylish which you don't get in any other bikes at this price range.
The engine is powerful as well as fuel efficient too.
Its worth spending your money on it.
Servicing and maintenance is not too high, its not gonna damage your pockets much.
Everything else is normal and a good value for money.
Pros:-
1)no other powerful 125cc bike is this segment.
2)fuel efficient.
3)comfortable ride experience(I've been on long tours)
4)the design you get is adorable.
Cons:-
1)yamaha is not trusted for 125 cc bikes.
But i would recommend to just have a look at it once.
2)the extended fibre part which is a pro too catches dirt which needs to be cleaned to get a catchy look.

Yes yamaha ss-125. Economically stylish but.....

Well, i bought my first bike, yamaha ss125 in 2011. Cause i kinda restricted on budget hence i was seeing around 55-65k range bikes. As a personal fan of yamaha, i didn't consider other brand's models. In yamaha, i narrowed down to sx-r, ss125. This ss125 is almost same like old gladiator model but with slight changes. Especially eye-catching sporty engine cover it attracts. After using a while (>6 yrs) i am happy with the decision. I lost the free servicing book given at the time of purchase and dealer is not ready to do free service without the book. I managed with my own money and i felt they could've done something for it. The place i am living had the average service capability, surely not the best or better. After servicing your bike you still feel that, something more can be done. 6 months back bike had a breakdown and had to call the mechanic to the house to take it, a major engine problem led to a charge of inr 5k and later servicing also paid inr 4k. The reviews on yamaha service centers in hyderabad are pathetic. I am afraid to go there and i feel better to take it to the hometown. When it comes to the bike performance, it gave around 50kmpl mileage on average and i use it regular day to day to purpose. A couple of times i rode >100 km at a stretch and it is never a problem. Max speed can touch near 90-95km and sometimes 100km when wind and road co-operate but you don't feel safe when you drive on high speed probably due to the rear tire size. I love the placement of handlebar, unlike other splendor/passion where it is high placed. It is more comfortable for short and long drives.

All things of this bike is good looks, power, suspension, ride quality, mileage is (55km/lit), still i have this bike with me and i have ride it to 75000 km till now i don't feel any problem in morning start , my major concern was the spare part are costly and not available in market as compare to other bike. I do my bike servicing at 4000 to 5000 km with liquidity 5w40 molygen imported oil from germany and i have done it 7 times engine is still smooth with less noise.I do my bike service at local garages.

The most worst bike i have ever seen. First thing is the seat is not good enough & get pain after driving for a short period. Then the engine is not good & fuel economy is the worst. I have ran for 32300 kms i have done major overhauling of the engine & gearbox twice & the cost of maintenance is very high.

I have blue black coloured of 2013 model. Pros: excellent look. Extremely good suspension. Mileage 52 to 62 kmpl. Good n uniform pick up with 11bhp engine for safety. Just ride n experience. Good for long journey. Cons: colour should be more durable. Difficult to start in early morning during winter. Blue or blue black are best colour. Cost of parts is high n not available always.

After use of hero honda slender for more than 12 years and about 1 lakh kms, i was looking a bike which would provide me
1 comfort for my back
2 look
3 power
4 economy.
searched a lot bikes, read reviews and i got this yamaha s s 125. While purchasing i was aware of one thing that it is a discontinued bike, though but i purchased it. My decision and judgement was perfect.
still i am using this bike and i am really proud of it. I got above mentioned all 4 things.
i have to go my office 30 km up and 30 down, total 60 km per day. It takes 25 to 30 min to go to my office. No backache. Mileage 6o km/ lit. Very confident with speed between 80 to 90. Another thing i am not worried about a small to medium sized potholes. Bike just jumps out of pothole and continues its run. Really this is great experience for me. One thing i do its servicing regularly as per manual.
final words - just great.
One curiosity- why yamaha has discontinued this model?

I like the yamaha ss125 after the smooth test ride. The bike is good in terms of comfort & pickup as well. Power engine, which is one of the best technologies which a bike can have. The ss125 has many cool features and affordable price.
I mostly like its suspension and powerful engine which gives me more comfort.
Pros
look, suspension, power
cons
front number plate location

I had szx and then i want other bike..Y shouldn't i buy 125cc from yamaha because had great experience with riding szx upto 90000kms..Riding experience is best ..Power is great like 150cc..And at top speed also bike doesn't vibrate..Breaking performance is great with ceat tyres...I play this bike..And as per mileage is concern it gives 60kmpl in city with shell and indian oil, 56 with bharat petroleum and 53 with hindustan petroleum.. Top speed plays very well @110kmph..Thanks yamaha.. And please try to relaunch this bike with some added features..

Change oil after 2000 km. Suspension oil after 12000km. Don't reduce oil flow. Use chain lube. Change the parts whenever needed.

The bike is a worst experience, the gear box broke within 10000 km, servicing is also very bad, bike vibrates at low speed & mileage is not satisfactory. spares are costly and not rudely available. engine power is less , seat is hard wastage of money as it requires frequent maintenance for the bike. engine sound pitch is high.
