The bike is good even pick up is ok but because of its body posture when someone is sitting behind and you ride this bike in traffic and you are pulling brake liver again and again then the whole body force even the pillion's body force comes on your hand and after 9-10 km's it starts hurting so it is not that comfortable!

I bought my bike back in September 2015 it costed a bit much but it never mattered as it's a a cool bike with excellent performance and awesome ride comfort. I have had a long stretch of journey of 800 km from bangalore to pune in a single day, say 10 hr.... Bike is butter smooth.. Good pickup but in terms of mileage its 42 on highway and in city condition it provides 35 - 40.Coming further into looks its astonishing bike ever launched by yamaha i used this bike for 5 years straight without having any major issues... But this bike have some physical issues like pillion rider seat is not comfortable enough. Though handling and road grip is fantastic.

The black beast - the mighty r15 v2
Aswin U
I own a 2015 r15 v2 special edition and it has been a wonderful experience ever since i bought this. The dealership from where i bought offered me exceptional buying experience while i was filled with joy. From the day i bought this little beast it has never let me down,be it performance or the impeccable reliability this offers. The acceleration and that mid and high end grunt is the best in the 150cc segment which can put even some of the 200 cc bikes to shame. The power to weight ratio ensures that it never runs out of breath and one can rev till red-line freely without a hint of vibrations and hit those mind boggling high speeds.Throttle response is butter smooth and you don't need a ride by wire whatsoever.High speed cruising is amazing and the stability is just excellent.Styling is the main reason why r15 is still the king of 150cc and sells like hot cake, those sharp lines and aggressive styling makes it look like a mini superbike. Everywhere i go the bike grabs so much eyeballs and frequent questions have been asked like 'kitna deti hai' ,price and all.The bike has a tiny 150cc which manages to churn out 40 to 42 kms/l in highway conditions and around 35 to 38 kms/l in city conditions and the bike has been consistent in keeping these figures regardless of the other factors like climate and road conditions.Servicing the bike through yamaha service centres has been always hassle free and they ensure that your bike is serviced properly as per your expectations and frequent visits to service stations isn't needed as the bike is damn reliable and needs only service twice or thrice a year, the service charges may range from 1000 to 2000 based on the requirements. The stock mrf tyres offers exceptional ride quality and is super sticky in Indian road conditions and may last for 10 to 15000 kms based on your riding style. Both tyres may cost anywhere between 5 to 7k. Overall the bike is a dream come true for many biking enthusiasts which offers amazing performance and looks at marginally cheaper prices and for me its been a wonderful experience.
Pros
1.Looks
2.Performance
3.Mileage
4.Reliable
Cons
1.Not a value for money considering its a 150cc
2.Zero pillion comfort
3.Aggressive riding stance

I had 4 years experience of yamaha r15 v2.0 .First of all its not good for family works and you feel comfortable for 10-15 comfortable on highway after that without gloves your palm got paining so sitting problem for long ride and average is good in this section .Maintenance is high and it got the best look in 150 cc bike .Overall engine is good and bike power is also good .So happy to have this bike better to go with yamaha r15 s with lower seat version.

For maintenance keep checking your bike after every 400 km . Some things you can do by own buy a motul chain clean and lube and never run bike with so less fuel and things people always forget white servicing or maintenance are: Brake oil check. Clean both disk brakes. Check your chain tightening or slacking. Check your wheel movement it should move little free.

A burst of joy in small packet.

1 This was a gift from my uncle!!
2 this bike is sports bike but for a tall rider it is not that much aggressive posture but gives you somewhat sporty feel. But nevertheless your palms would pain a lot when you are driving for first time and also the pain in your glutenous is also noticing as the seat is not so comfortable but it is tolerable i would say. Otherwise i have done short rides of 30-40 kms of ride back to back and it is super fun to ride this baby!
well the pillion height is somewhat higher and feels like top on world but it gives no trouble at least when you are driving under the redline and not crossing it.
3 Coming to its power well it is bit low compared to rc200 but hey it surpass all expectation personally until now it still gives me chill if i push it to redline on 1st gear as it have ability to reach 0-60 under 10 secs again it is my personal observation so no deep thought about that. But apart from it the revs, the torque it is just satisfying if you are buying your first sports bike but again it is all about that torque it churns out, to be honest it doesn't have low end torque not a bit also but as soon as it crosses 5k on rpm the real nature reveals the power starts churning through its cylinders the revv is louder than rc 200!
comig to its looks well it is yamaha, a bike to catch all eyes on street but the major key component is its tail lamp it can leave all competition behind and it is yet satisfying
but coming to its mileage this baby beast has smaller tank capacity as its engine capacity is small too but again it gives a fair amount of mileage as i have to refill the tank only once or twice a month however hard i revs or how long i go it still gives you a pretty decent mileage!
the starting throttle is not that much crispy but as soon it hits the road it turns into a racing machine
coming to its tyre quality it has mrf i guess rev-s tyre which lacks grip on wet surface as i have met with many accidents when using mrf but soon i have switched to michelin pilot street tyres which are so good on grip like i have tested it in panic braking and on wet surfaces it just prevents you from tripping the bike but overall stock tyres are poor in terms of grip
well the exhaust is a worth a shot as it grunts louder and yet more refined to hear but there is vibrations on handlebar but they are not that much but are present and often subside as soon as you change the gear
coming to braking, well the front discs are very sensitive to pressure as soon you give a very minute push to front brakes it starts responding but the rear brake is bit late to respond but it does not hamper the braking experience.
The suspension of this bike well it is stiffer on front and soft at rear but sometimes the front suspension gives a hell lot of pain in hands as it is on stiffer side.
The instrument cluster is combination of analogue and digital it shows almost all necessary info on the go but it doesn't have rev limiter or a gear indicator
the gear shifting is also smoother but sometimes are cranky but that situation is rare .
The engine quickly heats in traffic but the heat is tolerable up to certain extent but it again doesn't interfere or stalls engine performance nor shuts down the bike
4 the servicing and maintenance of this bike is quite expensive but is worth a shot as after my first service i got my fuel injector cleaned and boom the bike now is more refined and more responsive. But the main issue of service is that all times the part of this bike are not available again i m saying based on my experience but they are quite expensive too but the service is sometimes is terrible and the feedback from the service team is also terrible but again i'm saying on basis of what i experienced.
But overall the service team still helps you to eliminate the problems of bike but i would it is rather sluggish than unresponsive.
5 Summarising it to final verdict
pros-
-good looks
-decent mileage
-good mid range torque
-responsive brakes
-refined engine
-lot of confidence after tyres warmed up
-good service team
-a nice instrument cluster
-smoother up-shifts
-good looking headlamps and a sexy tail lamp
cons-
-bit uncomfortable for tall riders but pain is tolerable
-seat comfort is low
-no low end torque
-quite expensive parts
-less powerful light beams
-ok grip on stock tyres
-electronic damaged easily if in contact of water
-down shifts are bit cranky
-for newbies they will accidentally shift to neutral more often while up shifting but it is quite annoying
-overheats on long rides
well if you are willing to buy your first 150cc sports bike this is worth for money but again it varies according to personal choice.

It is good with the price but the fibre parts of this bike is very bad. First of all while in 5000 km this is real good for riding . And the breaking was not good . Not comfortable for long riding . Looks are that good but look doesn’t matter every time . Mileage issue was there for more than 15000 km.

Good but not for daily use

The bike is good even pick up is ok but because of its body posture when someone is sitting behind and you ride this bike in traffic and you are pulling brake liver again and again then the whole body force even the pillion's body force comes on your hand and after 9-10 km's it starts hurting so it is not that comfortable!

Enjoyable ride
