Confused between v2 and v1... Here is my review..

Got hands on with fz s v2 .. Here lies the major difference..

    1) Pickup - its actually d same but ... U will notice an improvement coming from v1.. Due to its reduced weight its like a parallax.. 2) Accleration - its slightly faster than v1 and mostly on all gears. No lag.. 3) Ripped till 90 kmpr and thats the major difference lies.. - The engine dosnt get strained while reviving upto 7-8 k rpm.. 4) U will definately gain speeds on each gear while earlier on v1 the 3rd nd 4th gear was nearly same... 5) A slightly reduced turning radius.. I dnt know why as it shares the same handle bar. So u will enjoying taking u turns. 6) Coming to weight balance .. So it feels super smooth.. .And more interesting thing is you enjoy every time u go to higher speeds .. Its so calm ride.. 7) A more light visibility due to its protuded headlamp construction.. 8) Added tyre hugger keeps ur ride neat. 9) Rear drum brakes have more stopping force than v1.. 10) Fuel economy is more , good tym for fzians.. ( Again i havnt chcked that now but its claimed so fingers crossed) 10) tyres, seating position, shockers, discs are the same..

    Now the cons...

    1) The looks are chunky, rear portion is like 200ns, tank is like somewhat discover(not likely but as far as i seen) so its a mix bag.. Personally for me the v1 was best... So i dont like the new design.......

    2) Less torque and bhp . Its on paper but reality says different as i had test ride and i feel its quicker than v1 but my friend says that it dosnt goes beyond 106 kmpr ..( As its new so i think its d same as v1)

    3) pillion seat sucks (after coming from v1's rear seat) - no cushioning , hard , same like 200ns . So its hard time for pillion riders ..

    4) Do tell me if its wrong but showroom guy told my friend that there should be at least 2 lts petrol in tank as its an fi system now.. So not sure here ..

So till now these are the major differences i found so far .. If anyone of u find another then do tell me

  • Comprehensive ownership review on yamaha fzs v2. 25k km on my machine .

    Ismail G

I bought this bike the yamaha fzs v 2.O in 2015. I have almost ridden 25000 km, for my daily commute and occasional touring . Bike is really good in terms of mileage . I m getting about 60 kmpl when i ride it within the speed of eco mode . But it drops to around 50 kmpl when i ride bit harsh . But i am really happy about mileage .

Engine sounds smooth and nicely refined. Rides very well, gives big bike feel. When you ride other bikes after riding fzs they feel very smaller. Seating position is sportier , but tends to hurt on long distance when you got a big backpack. You tend to move forward close to tank on long distances .

Regarding service its very disappointing even in many showrooms. The service guys just don't know properly about this bike . The headlight malfunctioned and when i took it to replace the guy in service room doesn't know how to fix it.

And my suggestion is to be with the bike during service otherwise you may get your bike parts damaged . Don't put the oil what service centre or showroom people tell . Just don't pay 750 for those synthetic oils . Synthetic oil tends to leak from engine . Best is to put shell 10w40 , which is mineral oil , you will get good mileage and smooth engine performance with no leakage of oil. I m not promoting this oil. This my observation till date .

Many bloggers tell that rear tyre huger looks bad, but i like the rear tyre huger, it gives macho feel when you see it from rear end. But it makes noise sometimes when the screws become loose and when you ride on bad roads. You have to tighten them to get rid of this sound.

I m happy with my bike . But the downside is you cant get your mother or any other woman in the pillion seat when they sit one sided . Its really uncomfortable to them and they may fell down and get hurt.

Worst thing is you cant carry a side bag also .. You should have your backpack to carry groceries or laptop or any files .. But

My bike never gave up on long rides of about 500kms. Not even a jerk . Just rode smooth all the way. 500 kms in 600 rs fuel. I was overwhelmed. I love my bike.

I regularly service it change oil, lubricate chain . Wash it with soap and water.

So this my review . I hope you people like it.

  • Yamaha its not a bike its a legend

    Ankit Kumar

Guys if you are looking fzs ver 2 . Then you are at the right place , i would like to divide my review into several parts :-

    1) buying experience - it was quite good experience as we all know , when happens when we enter a dealership , staff was quite friendly and yes i think if remember you won't get much discount in any yamaha i also did not got any (only500)

    2) riding experience and feel - in this field yamaha takes down all its contenders like honda , suzuki , you fee super confident while , riding , taking turns , braking of course , and the clutch and gearbox are ultra smooth ..You would not find this in any suzuki or any honda believe me .

    3) performance and looks - the bike is amazingly built by yamaha ..It has stunning looks ..Let me tell you it was launched in 2008 in India but now also it easily catches people's eyes ... Now talking about the mileage ..It will easily give you 45-50 as i am getting it while riding rough sometimes. So do not worry about the mileage .

    4) servicing and maintenance - it is quite pocket friendly bike , i have ridden about 12000 kms on it , still i have not spent a single penny on it , servicing is also quite cheap as you only have to pay for the engine oil , and the service station is also good as compared to other companies.

    5) comfort - the bike handle is placed at a very good position and angle as i have ridden it continuous for 300 kms and still did not feel any pain in back or the shoulders , so don't worry about comfort. The seats are also quite comfortable and the suspension also plays its role very well

Now you already have got overview of the bike , so now i must make you aware with the pros and cons of the bike

    Pros --

    1) the handling is ultra superb

    2) fuel economy is satisfactory

    3) braking is very nice

    4) the maintenance is pocket friendly

    5) it looks amazing

    6) most trusted brand yamaha

    Now the cons-

    1) the silencer coating is not good as it is prone to rusting very much .

    2) as the bike is fuel injected you will have to care a lot for the bike

    3) rear tyre huger makes noise sometimes .

    4) the fuel meter is not accurate

Final verdict -- if you want a pocket friendly , smooth , daily commuter and that too of a big brand then go for it .It will not disappoint you .

So this was the full review of the bike , hope this helps you in making a better decision

  • My bike my yamaha

🙂 this is my first bike and i seriously love it. Mainly the astral blue color. The look of the speedometer will give you an extra ordinary feeling. In version 2 they have reduced the weight of the vehicle that is 132 kg (291 lb). They have modified the tank but the capacity is same as version one that is 12 ltr. The fuel system is not having carburettor its fuel injection type hence it will provide you a 14 percent extra milage than the old fz. The rear tyre width is also little bit reduced. The bike will come with one tool kit, side mirror and first aid kit. The rear seat you can open and there is provision to hang your helmet in the rear seat. Ultimately i can say it will give you a sporty feeling.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox

as i am not suitable to say much about an engine performance as i ride only 23 km yet but the power of an engine is awesome. You will fill the power when you overtake any vehcile.

As per the yamaha service centre this bike will give you a mileage within 45 to 50 km in city rides like bangalore and on highway. People claims upto 55 km if you drive on eco mode.

Gear box is smooth one down and all are up.

    Ride quality &
    handling

about ride quality and handling i can say yamaha and royal enfield are only the two bike companies which can not be describe by words. That only you can feel and enjoy.

    Final words

its paisa wasool bike with good engine, nice handling, and sexy look.

Few thing happend when i went for pooja today that people were asking about the bike and about the feeling of that. And after sharing my feeling the smile over there face was giving me a nice and wonderfull feeling which made me a pride owner of yahmaha.

    Areas of improvement

in this i don't like is paying a total amount of 96100 rs the bike is not coming with kicker. There is only self start. After paying this huge amount yamaha should consider about that also they should include the engine mudguard which is very necessary and the leg guard also. There is no provision for the ladies side footrest. Yahmaha should consider these few points.

Atleast one free thing yahmaha can provide that bike cover😉.

    Pros

style, comfort and mainly the rear tyre is covered

    cons

it doesn't have kicker and the some important accessories are still not available.

I bought my bike in 2016. At first the bike came to sell. I was impressed by the looks of this bike over the first version. It feels premium and very good naked street bike still now. Great bike among 150-160 cc bikes.I have been riding this bike for 2 and a half year i have faced quite a lot problems but its ok, it never cost me so much.If you are planning to pick a 150-160 cc bikes ,i will say the pros and cons of this bike.Pros#* good looking naked street bike. * one of the best refined engines. Goes like a baby in 80-90 km/h. * good cornering abilities. * good compared to tvs apache 160 and pulsar 150. * gear box is good , feels great between 2 to 5 gears. * great fuel tank capacity. * best handling in traffic conditions. * great bike for touring and daily day commute. Cons#. * tyres will easily get worse. * chain sprocket must be changed after 6k km. * braking is bad , never stops suddenly , front tires skids while braking.* body parts are plastic it will break down easily in one fall. *. Chain sound and the gear clunking sound. *. Instrument cluster is not feeling good it may stops working sometimes misbehave.* fuel efficiency is moderate. That's all guys. If you are planing to buy a 150 or 160 cc bike ( pick apache 160 4v 2018, hornet 160, gixxer.) choice is your. I may recommend apache 160 4v best gear box and good refined engine not like old one.Or you are a great fan of fz naked bikes go for it.Thanks all....

I bought fzs v1 on 1st feb 2014. I have completed 40k kms. I went for long drives max of 400kms. It was very good for long drives. There is no vibration. I drove at average speed of 80kmph. For city commute it was good. We never get back pain because of good suspension.

Problem is with maintenance, for just general service with any parts replace it will cost 1000 to 1200 , this needs to be done per every 2000 kms. My monthly commute is 1000kms so i have give it for service per every 2 months. Now a days some parts became loose. Recently gear lever bolts lost in high traffic. City mileage is 30-33, highway 35-38 kmpl. Finally if you are okay for maintenance charges and mileage go for it.

Never buy yamaha bike. Very very poor servicing. Poor sticker. Parts are not available in the market. They say 6 free service but they bill minimum rs1000.00 for every service. And extra charges also. I went for service ....They hide my new helmet and gave a old broken helmet. So guys never buy yamaha bike.

  • Yamaha fz s v2

    Jithin Jose

If anyone of u find another then do tell me

    pros

    millage

    cons

    reduced power

  • Yamaha fz s v2

    Jithin Jose

    Rejin

  • High maintenance
