It could have come with a split seat option as the bike looks ugly from the side angle. Otherwise, the bike is overall good and the price should be low as it's pretty much high compared to competitors. Price is very high and doesn't come with an option of split seat, performance is minimal, it should have atleast 14 to 15 ps power with that price.

The Yamaha FZS-FI V4 is a well-rounded motorcycle that perfectly balances style, comfort, fuel efficiency, and reliability. After spending considerable time with the bike, it becomes clear why it remains one of the most popular choices in the 150cc commuter segment. The first thing that stands out is its muscular design. The sharp LED headlamp, sporty tank shrouds, and premium finish give the bike a modern streetfighter look. Yamaha has done an excellent job of making the FZS V4 look bigger and more premium than its rivals. In terms of performance, the 149cc fuel-injected engine delivers smooth and refined power. While it is not built for aggressive racing, it offers a comfortable and stress-free riding experience in city traffic as well as on highways. The engine feels refined even at higher speeds, with minimal vibrations. One of the strongest points of the FZS-FI V4 is its fuel efficiency. Under normal riding conditions, riders can expect around 45-55 km/l, making it economical for daily commuting. The comfortable seat, upright riding posture, and well-tuned suspension further enhance the overall riding experience, especially during long rides. The bike also comes equipped with useful modern features such as Bluetooth connectivity through the Y-Connect app, traction control, single-channel ABS, and a fully digital instrument cluster. These additions improve both convenience and safety.Overall, the Yamaha FZS-FI V4 is an excellent choice for riders seeking a stylish, fuel-efficient, comfortable, and dependable motorcycle. It may not be the most powerful bike in its segment, but it excels as a practical everyday companion with low maintenance costs and Yamaha's trusted reliability.

I have been riding this bike daily 28km on the highway And slow moving traffic as well. I would consider this bike the best for mileage. Ride is however you want it gives minimum 51kmpl mileage. I get 54-57kmpl constant.Only thing that could have been better is power n torque. For 149 cc 2bhp is little less. But not a big deal it still goes to 80-90kmph easy. Cornering on this bike feels very confident. Last but very important, The Break, this bike has saved my life many times. Why does the FZ-S V4 feel so satisfying in traffic?
Sunil Gupta
The Yamaha FZ-S V4 is one of those bikes that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with crazy numbers or aggressive performance figures. Instead, it focuses on something that actually matters for most riders — comfort, smoothness, reliability, and everyday usability. And honestly, that’s exactly where this bike shines. At first glance, the FZ-S V4 looks muscular and premium. The updated front design with the sharp LED headlight and aggressive tank shrouds gives the bike a modern streetfighter look. Yamaha has kept the design clean but sporty enough to stand out in traffic. The fit and finish also feel solid, which is something Yamaha bikes are usually known for.Once you sit on the bike, the comfortable riding posture becomes immediately noticeable. The handlebar position, seat height, and footpeg placement make it very relaxed for daily commuting as well as longer rides. Whether you’re riding through city traffic or cruising on open roads, the bike feels easy and confidence inspiring. The engine is smooth and refined, which is probably one of the biggest strengths of the FZ-S V4. It’s not built for aggressive speed or high-performance riding, but the throttle response is predictable and beginner friendly. In traffic, the lightweight feel and smooth clutch make riding stress-free. The gearbox is also slick, adding to the overall smooth riding experience.Another area where the FZ-S V4 performs well is fuel efficiency. Yamaha has tuned the bike in a way that balances performance and mileage nicely, making it practical for students, office riders, and daily commuters. You can enjoy the ride without constantly worrying about fuel expenses.Feature-wise, the bike feels modern too. The Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster and traction control system add a premium touch to the overall package. These features might seem small, but they make the bike feel more updated compared to many competitors in the segment.Of course, the bike is not perfect. Riders looking for high-speed thrills or aggressive acceleration may find it underpowered. The performance is more relaxed than exciting. But honestly, the FZ-S V4 was never designed to be a racing machine. This bike is for riders who value comfort, reliability, smoothness, and practicality over pure speed. It’s simple, stylish, efficient, and easy to live with every single day. And sometimes, that’s exactly what makes a bike special.

Value For Money Bike

I have been using the Yamaha FZS-FI V4 for quite some time now, and overall it has been a good and practical bike for daily use. The design looks premium and sporty, especially the muscular tank and sharp front styling. It definitely grabs attention on the road. The riding posture is very comfortable, which makes city rides and even slightly longer journeys stress-free. Mileage is also decent, making it a good option for regular commuting. One thing I genuinely liked is the engine refinement. The bike feels smooth during normal riding, and gear shifts are also quite comfortable. The handling is light and confidence inspiring, especially in traffic conditions. Braking performance is also satisfactory with good stability. However, there are a few areas where the bike could have been better. The overall build quality of some parts does not feel as premium as expected in this segment. Certain plastic panels and finishing could definitely be improved. Another disappointing thing was the rear CEAT tyre provided from the company. I faced an issue where the tyre started losing air, and eventually I had to replace it, which should not happen so early. Also, after some usage, the engine has started making a slight noise, which is noticeable during riding. Although performance is still fine, Yamaha should improve long-term engine smoothness and quality control. Service experience also depends a lot on the service centre.Overall, despite a few quality-related issues, the FZS V4 remains a stylish, comfortable, and reliable bike for daily commuting. I would rate it around 3.8 out of 5 stars. It is a good bike with excellent comfort and refinement, but there is still room for improvement in parts quality and tyre reliability.

After riding this bike for around 500 km, my overall experience has been very impressive. One of the most notable aspects is that the engine did not heat up at all, even after long rides, which clearly reflects its strong build quality and efficient performance. The riding experience is extremely smooth and comfortable. Even after covering such a long distance, I did not feel any fatigue, which shows how well the bike is designed in terms of suspension and ergonomics. Whether riding in the city or on highways, the bike maintains excellent stability and control. In terms of mileage, the bike delivered an average of around 40 to 45 km/l, which is quite good for this segment. I pushed the bike up to a top speed of 104 km/h, and even at that speed, it remained stable and confident on the road. The braking system is also very impressive. The bike responds quickly, and it becomes easy to control in sudden situations, giving a strong sense of safety to the rider. However, one minor issue I noticed is with the leg rest positioning. Sometimes, it feels slightly uncomfortable to place the feet properly, which could be improved for better riding comfort.Overall, this bike offers a great balance of performance, comfort, and efficiency. It is a reliable option for both daily commuting and long rides.

I've been riding my Yamaha FZ-S V4 for over 11,500 km, and it's been a fantastic experience. The bike offers smooth performance, excellent fuel efficiency, and a comfortable riding position for both city commutes and long rides. The handling is stable, the braking inspires confidence, and the muscular design always gets compliments. Maintenance has been reasonable, making it a reliable companion. Overall, it's a great bike for anyone looking for a stylish, dependable, and fuel-efficient motorcycle. Highly recommended!

I purchased first version of this bike . And I am regretting now

Too much maintenance cost. After 4 years every part has to be replaced nothing works good. Even the suspension is gone within a year. I am single rider only and never allow 3 persons in a bike. The oil seals and coneset cost is too much. You can maintain car instead of this bike. I will suggest to new buyers that don't buy it unless your rich enough

Flaws that need attention

It could have come with a split seat option as the bike looks ugly from the side angle. Otherwise, the bike is overall good and the price should be low as it's pretty much high compared to competitors. Price is very high and doesn't come with an option of split seat, performance is minimal, it should have atleast 14 to 15 ps power with that price.

A Stylish & Reliable Daily Commuter

When it comes to applying urgent break bcoz of some idiots on road With no manners.

Why does the FZ-S V4 feel so satisfying in traffic?

The Yamaha FZ-S V4 is one of those bikes that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with crazy numbers or aggressive performance figures. Instead, it focuses on something that actually matters for most riders — comfort, smoothness, reliability, and everyday usability. And honestly, that’s exactly where this bike shines. At first glance, the FZ-S V4 looks muscular and premium. The updated front design with the sharp LED headlight and aggressive tank shrouds gives the bike a modern streetfighter look.
