Owner of white yamaha fz25 since september 2017. 1475 km done. First service done.
Buying: best part is that such a great bike has very short waiting period. I was amazed when msp in bangalore banashankari outer ring road delivered it in two days.
The first ride was a trial ride before i bought the bike and i fell in love with the bike within 8 seconds! i had tried dominar and re himalayan before i got my hands on fz25. The ride quality, the amazing road grip, the engine sound (i can meditate with that sound in background) and seating position were the features that swept me off my feet. The body weight is apt for someone like me who is just looking to upgrade from a 150cc commuter to next level.
It looks great and feels great. Though the black one more resembles the fz2.0, the white stands out like a boss. Yamaha never uses the split handles and i love that part. It brings in a comfortable seating posture and you can handle your bike in one finger each side. Suspension is another aspect where yamaha could beat all its rivals by a great margin. The throttle response is good(though rtr and dominar would fare better). The pickup after 50+ is superb and the bike gives enough confidence to reach speeds above 90. Mileage (though we aren't supposed to talk about fuel efficiency of these beasts) is pretty decent. 33kmpl in bangalore traffic condition on a 250cc bike is best you can ask for. Braking is a cakewalk since i already told you guys about the road grip. This chariot, stays glued to the roads! after the first service the ride quality became smoother which i did not like. I love that wrooommm way of my yamaha. I hope it will be back to its best sound soon. Seat could have been softer. Rides going beyond 2 hours are painful (you know where ;-)). Gears are good except the normal yamaha issue of slip during shift from 1st to second. Missing 6th gear is really a drawback. The ignition not placed in center is a bit odd and takes time to adjust. Display (cluster) is pretty basic one. Fuel indication is not very consistent need to see how it goes after service.
Servicing was good on-time, prompt and issues that i reported has been addressed. However, its too early to comment yet.
Engine and ride quality
Value for money
Brilliant road grip and braking
Good throttle response and pickup.
Head lamp could have been much better. People who love to ride at night on highways won't like this.
Gear slip (as usual)
No abs! i don't know how yamaha missed this one.
Color choices are too low. Nothing at all to choose. Surprising that fz-s has so many colors and fz25 has so less.
No 6th gear. Another feature that yamaha missed could have made this an awesome bike.
