  • Best all rounder bike with great mileage -fz25

    Saurav

Yes it is too early to review the bike after only 800 kms , but i can not resist to review this beast. Perfect engineering makes this bike a real performer. Yes i went to bajaj dealer for dominar 400 but after test ride the bike and thanked a lots of tanks vibration and comfortless handling i went for fz25 , 1st time i ride the bike and surprised to feel the same level of acceleration as i feel in dominar which is much more powerful on paper. And also no one can beat the reliability and handling and comfort of yamaha.

So, i am fully satisfied with the bike , it is a all rounder in highway and city i can move effortlessly thanks to fz25 handling dynamics. An the fuel efficiency is stunning 40.4 km/l is right now i m getting.

Only disadvantage of the bike i feel the headlight beam should be wider and lack of 6th gear but its ok as one can get all the torque in only 6000 rpm

    Yes yamaha.

When i went to buy this bike i took a test ride which i was not so curious but immediately when i accelerated the bike, the torque just pulled like hell and it was awesome to feel the torque and pick up.

After i bought, i observed that the gear lever was very tight and couldn't make the shifts easily. After 1st service the gear changing was smooth. But the service experience was bad because they charged 1400rs for my free service, that's a lot considering other bike service charges like gixxer, pulsar etc.

The riding experience is flawless whether it is traffic, touring or any other conditions.

The quality is perfect which is what yamaha gives. But i felt vibrations around the tank but that's not a major issue.

Mileage is also good relatively compared to it's competitors like duke 250 etc.

Go for this bike if u want a bike which suits regular use, traffic ,touring etc.

The bike is awesome for daily ride because i get the superb torque+ it is naked bike and require less space in traffic. The pillion seat is comfortable, mileage around 40-45kmpl which is great for sports bike. The only con is that it is missing abs which i think would be required. I think in future the bike would be upgraded to abs.

Value For Money 250CC Bike. Maintenance Is Bit High . Mileage Is Around 32-37KMPL. Headlights Not So Sufficient For Complete Darkness.Engine Heats Up And If Your Off-road Junky Then Suggest You To Consider Some Good Sprockets. Very Less Modification Available For Fz25 Compared To KTM .6th Gear Is Very Much Needed & Top Speed Is 144MAX . Fiber Body Tends To Loosen Up Within 1 Year. On High Speed Mirror Are Of No Use !! . Comfortable For Long Rides (Both Ride & Pillion).Rear Mud Gaurd Is Less Effective As All The Mud Gets Splashed On Pillion Rider's Back. Overall 4.2 As A Long Term Yamaha Fan.

According to me the engine is awesome, well refined one. Gear shifting is little harder after the first service it will become butter smooth. Performance is great it doesn't need a abs due to its braking efficiency. Millage is too good for 250 cc, i got 40 kmpl in city. Maintenance is important and removing the mud in inner parts are too difficult. Over all its amazing and strong street fighter.

    Thanks.

  • Daily commute in city traffic this bike is a good choice!!!!

    Mohaseen Khan

    1. Buying experience:

Since i booked the bike just after few days of it's release i didn't had much color options so i opted for black as i like it :)

Overall it was a good buying experience and even the staff was good.

    2. Riding experience:

I have experience of riding this bike in city and highway's have to admit that this bikes performs really good in city limits.

On highway it easily reaches 100-120 but a bit difficult to cross 120 as it lacks 6th gear.

I have been riding this bike for almost 6 months now and it is a superb bike to ride in city limits good initial pick-up even it manages to give a mileage around 30-33 km-pl.

    3. Looks

This bike will not get you much head turners as it gets it's physic from it's sibling fz.

    Pros:

    1. Very good in city limits.

    2. Mileage is good for a 250 segment bike.

    3. Pillion comfort and ground clearance is good.

    Cons:

    1. Only 5 gears: so when you put a casual or friendly race against rs200 or any 200 segment bike fz 25 will for sure be ahead but for an initial of 60-80 km, but since it lacks the 6th gear rs takes the lead.

    2. Headlights: no proper visibility during night ride.

    3. Looks are almost similar to fz so many of them will think it is an fz so no head turners.

    4. Service: some of it's parts are not available in service center. I recently gave it for an 3rd free service but had to revisit the showroom as they didn't had rear disc pads.

I bought the bike around January from very reliable showroom in bangalore. Till first service of use i felt like i was cheated i could have opted for other bike. After first service the bike shows its capability and yamaha's true engineering.I am daily rider commuting from my office to home, the bike provides extra boost in those traffic signals ,handling is perfect, after 3-4 months use it provides an economy of 35-40 .For long rides the bike is perfect getaway, while cruising at speed 70-80 the bike runs smooth, economy would be around 38-42. Fz 25 holds it's true lord of street character.

I am riding the fz25 for almost an year the bike is amazing when coming to the comfort it offers the power delivery is not very amazing. We cannot even compare the power with the duke 250. Definitely the lack of 6th gear is very much hurting and also lack of liquid cooling makes it bad. It looks very muscular and stunning. The maintenance is not a thing to be worried. The yamaha engine reliability remains stunning. Definitely i suggest this bike over the duke 200 because of the much more affordable price tag of just 1.45 lacks on road kerala. And the mileage is great i am getting around 36-37 great for touring as well. If you can go forward with the lack of 6th gear and liquid cooling system definitely i suggest the fz25.
