I can see people are crying for XSR155 in these reviews and putting negative reviews unwantedly without test driving or owning the bike. This bike will change your thoughts after test ride. I have already posted an elaborate review about this bike. This is an upgrade of FZ model. Definitely this model will have good sales if it reaches the proper users. It does have its pros and cons. Most of them writing it as trash, 100c bike.
I want to ask them whether you all are better R&D people than Yamaha has ? It has 149cc and FZX bike offers decent 50 km/l mileage and is comfortable to ride. What do you people need more than that ? If you don't like then don't influence others. Let people choose what they need. Yamaha tried to offer a semi cruiser (technically a neo retro scrambler) type of bike under a decent price which you negative reviewers didn't understand and degrading the bike for no reason. Even I can see xpulse is better or some other bike is better ?? does Bajaj, Hero have reliability like Yamaha does? Yamaha RX100 and RE bullets are ruling the roads still now. Can you name a bike from other brands which have a legacy still ? Ignore these negative reviewers, the jokers who haven't even touched the bike. Kindly choose this bike if you like only after a test ride. This is my strong suggestion to the new bike buyers.

People are just giving negative reviews just because they were expecting XSR instead of FZ-X from YAMAHA. They know nothing about FZ-X and yet they post negative comments. People like me would like to purchase bikes like this who loves retro looks. I am requesting you all to not post negative reviews without taking a single ride. People like me who want to purchase this bike wont buy because of negative reviews, so please give honest reviews based on its performance not on what you expect.

I am not going to beat around the bushes here, cutting straight to the chase, people talking about the performance and power, tell me if anyone of you who owns a 155cc or higher performance level bikes have rode at a constant 100 kmph in the city or even on the highways. You can't have it all in a single product.
Yamaha had the courage to launch this retro styled bike in this price point, and it is worth applauding. It provides the users with a new dimension of selection. This is very well a commuter centric bike, hence criticizing it by comparing it to XSR isn't fair. The bike is set keeping a close eye into the indian pockets. It sure has a very appealing look, the parts are premium and who doesn't knows about the fit and finish of Yamaha, it offers decent performance as well (enough for 95% of the users), and mileage upto 45kmpl.
The bike's low and medium end performance are upto the mark, the top end is enough, however there's always room for improvement. It can easily overtake and feels light while cruising, gives a style statement to the rider and surely is a head turner.

If you love to sail, its a must buy for you. FZX is actually made for highway sailing. Excellent road grip with easy handling and great stability, FZX has it all.
Overtakes become easy, thanks to 5 speed gear box with smooth shifting. One can go on long rides because of it's comfortable seat, good suspension, good mileage and low maintenance. While you ride people will turn their heads to see the beauty. Though 150cc segment bike, FZX has all to be a reliable cruiser. Headlight throw and focus is excellent making it easy to ride at night. Overall value for money.

  • Battery problems beware

    Yadul

Rest assured, the main problem a fzx user will face is its battery drainage problem. Almost everyone who uses a bluetooth variant has experienced it.
Once I got it replaced with another one through warranty but again the same problem is happening. Yamaha is yet to correct it.
Riding quality and looks are ok.
Never go for bluetooth version, it is literally a waste of money.

Recently purchased it 2 weeks ago.
    Pros follow below.
This bike is an eye-catching elegant voguish retro design, with superb comfort, and mileage beyond expectation, before the first service it gave me almost 62 mileage per liter on my first highway drive with fzx, and just followed the eco meter for most of the journey, I kept my speed of about 70 to 75 mph, sometimes above 85 mph as well, mileage 50+ mandatory, no much maintenance required. Power is superb on the empty roads more than single rider tested, shown zero lagging. It all-around bike i.E family, daily use, and sometimes a bit longer ride, and the best bike in this segment. I thought to buy the royal enfiled, however, yamaha fz-x retro has proven a better choice.
    Cons:
    1) gear status on the meter is missing.
    2) indicator led lights would have been better.
    3) rare area design could be improved.
I don't like the sports bike fiber body design, every second bike in the market from all brands you will find a similar design. If you want a standout and different identity, retro is the best. Will keep you posted if faced any issues in the future.

Fzx is a very good bike.. Don't listen to negative reviews as most of them comes from xsr lovers.. Very smooth & refined engine, thumpy exhaust note will make you to fall in love with this bike. Believe me awesome riding position & comfort than re classic or meteor but that's based on personal preference.. For me fzx riding comfort is better as it has very less to nil vibrations.. What I disliked is the cheap looking mirrors & funny pillion grab rail.. It looks much better after removing the pillion grab rail.. I have installed chrome mirrors & cushioned grab rail after which my bike got a stunning look.. Even if I take it outside people are asking about the bike details & they really liked it.

  • Superb but costly 149cc bike

    Santhosh Kumar R

    1. Buying experience - good support but I didn't get anything complimentary from orpi Yamaha and they didn't reduce the price. Actual on road Coimbatore cost is 139000 but due to demand they are charging 141109/- on road and 3000 extra for accessories which include seat cover, tank cover, bumper, side footrest and indicator buzzer other than these we have to pay for everything and for extended warranty 777/- so overall buying experience is average only cause I didn't get anything complimentary worth 3000 Rs and extra 2000 Rs in RTO charges. Quite disappointing with the price because normal fz will cost around 123000 on road but this is 145000 on road.
2.Riding quality- same as fz but throttle response is different riding comfort & riding quality is superb.
3.Performance - the least powered bike in this price segment and I like the way they have designed the tank and headlights but the issue is tank capacity which is only 10 litres and you have quite larger turning radius. Atleast they could have given a 155c or new 200cc engine. But its okay for daily commuting and you will get a better mileage.
    4. I have not yet given for first service after a month. I will update regarding this. Heard Yamaha spares are quite costly compared to other brands but its okay as they don't provide cheap spares. I trust in Yamaha.
    5. Pros - Design, mostly metal build, riding quality and comfort
cons - price is the main con of this bike other than that I cant find any disappointments

  • Ignore the negative reviews

    Santhosh Kumar R
