Reviews of Yamaha FZ S [2012-2016]

Hi,

My first bike is yamaha fz. It is too good, the quality and style which made by yamaha motors was too good. Follow by yamaha bike designs, lot of bikes followed to produce as same look.

Price wise is good, quality is extraordinary. You will never feel back pain, if you are travelling long distance/

Pros and cons is nothing but the service charges (taxes etc)

Buying experience :

When i was looking for a bike 5 years back, i got many bikes in suggestion in perspective of thrill and economy. Being my own earned bike and first ever bike, i do want to have a connection and road presence for my height( short) and ultimately it ended with fz-s. After these many years and these many new models, when i see my bike standing, it is sill & ever the best in my view.

Riding experience:

Fz-s is always have a smooth ride without any irritating noise( they call it as silencer sound ). When you rev to a point, it will gives a sweet sound ( not noise). Seats are ergonomically perfect for its price range so even short road trips can be done easily.

Suspension is good to cut thru corners and traffics. Handlebar is top notch gives you confident that you the master for it.

About looks, no way. Even version 2.0 couldn't make it up to that version 1. That curvy design is more style than cut design in ver2.0 model. The top notch in my bike is engine. Such a smooth creamy one. No vibration up to 80 kmph. After that it may gives a bit. But being 150 air cooled- i feel this is best output.

Here comes the worse part. Servicing. From the first paid service till date, i am satisfied with service. Most of the time, feels they water wash the bike and giving to customer. I am having one small handle bar issue for past 4 years and still is unsolved after all those services with different traders. So that is what still bothering me.

Apart from that if you change oil, tyre and serviced in regular interval( i do 3 months once), it will be your best buddy in all conditions.

Pros:

Trustable smooth engine, design, comfort, decent mileage with sporty performance

Cons:

May be the handlebar issue i am facing. Service team told this is common in all fzs but i am not sure with that.

Air coolant. ( restrict the bike only for street and short trips). Having oil cooling system as r15 would make fz/fzs more prominent

I was about to buy bajaj avenger, but when i saw yamaza fzs and i decided to own this bike. I took a test drive and booked on the spot. The pickup and smoothness was awesome. Look wise also its very nice. Servicing and parts are affordable. Long riding makes easy. But seat is not so comfortable for long drives.

Buying experience was good.

About riding, i have completed about 66k on fz-s. It is a fantastic looking bike, best in class, superb handling, superb grip because of wide tyres.... Sturdy bike, very strong suspensions. I did off-roading on this bike with ease and excellent comfort. Used to get mileage of around 30-35 kmpl. It was truly "lord of the streets" as yamaha promised at that time.

Although maintenance of this bike was bit more than other bikes but it gets paid by look and performance of bike.. ;)

Pros: best looking, wide tyres, light weight, full lcd speedo, sturdy, comfort.

Cons: average mileage, bit expensive maintenance as compared to other bikes, struggles to go near 100kmph speed...

Riding experience is very good. Every time i ride the bike, i feel a totally different experience.Looks are really sporty and well styled.Even its performance - its mileage is an area of satisfaction.Servicing is not as expensive as compared to other bikes with same range.Overall,it is a total advantage for me.It is my life.

1. Buying a fzs is a wonderful experience.

2. Riding on this bike on city roads is an awesome experience, on highways too but for a shorter distance say around 180- 200 km in one stretch, after that your body starts paining especially shoulders & thighs. As the driving posture doesn't allow you to ride more distance in one stretch. I have travelled 270 km in one stretch, the small halts after every one hour travel helped me a lot to deal with this body pain.

3. I have military green fzs. I remember the day when i first saw this bike on the road. It was nothing but love at first site. It is damn sexy. And the love grows every time i wash & polish the bike and not to mention when i ride it.

4. I can easily say that maintaining this bike is a costly stuff. I don't know about other bikes but i opted for the extended warranty of 3 yrs which yamaha provides during buying the bike. Hence i have to service the bike only at the authorised service centres. My average service cost per year is 12000/-. The extended warranty helped me a lot as i got free replacement of some costly parts. The one time service cost of approx. 2000/- includes oil filter, engine oil, labour charge (not on free service), chain clean, chain lube etc. Sometimes the cost increases when you use special 3m products like engine flush(removes the excess burnt engine oil) , decarbon (removes the carbon deposition on piston head), engine additive (improves engine performance), petrol additive (improve mileage). The use of these products are usually recommended by the service centres but personally i feel we should only use it if we want to use the vehicle till its life (15 yrs)

A. Excellent looks esp. Military green

B. Amazing riding experience in the 150 cc segment

C. Comfortable for average 5 ft height person

D. Extended 3 yr warranty provided by yamaha

Cons-

A. High maintenance cost

B. Not comfortable for long rides more than 200 kms

Well it's a good bike if you're low on budget.

Yamaha is very reliable.

Never have i ever faced any emergency issues in 4 years.

I have rode over 45000 km and i'm still satisfied with its performance.

Looks are pretty decent and maintenance cost is very low.

Pros:

1) good and cheap parts

2) brakes

3) light in weight

4) good mileage

Cons:

1) speed is comparatively low

2) riding longer distance may cause pain in shoulder ( my experience )

First love! yes, you heard it right. My first love on bike was yamaha fz-s this was first ever bike i bought and learned to ride. I always been into 2 stroke bikes and was scared and made scared by my dad that if i ride any bike on busy streets in Bangalore would definitely meet with an accident... But nevertheless i was keen on getting my hands on fz-s ever i saw its first ad on book.

Its almost been almost 7 to 8 years of my relationship with this bike and i swear it still drives since i bought this.
