Let me talk about the points listed here:
1. Buying experience: easily purchased
2. Riding experience: comfortable for the rider for long and short commutes, but the version i have the one made in 2010 was uncomfortable for the pillion rider, owing to the small seats.
3. Details about looks, performance etc: i still like how my bike looks, from a paint job point of view, there has been no deterioration as such, despite it being over 7 years old. So that talks a little about the quality of the work. Performance has always been good, for a city bike, i don't think this lacks anything on the speed front. I never used this to race, racing on city roads is juvenile and reckless. I wouldn't call this bike fast, but i wouldn't call it slow either. For city use, it has served me really well. Also, i would say that i genuinely love this bike performance wise.
4. Servicing and maintenance: i kept a pretty consistent servicing schedule, where i serviced my bike every 2,500 kms. It's not had much wear and tear, but the one major problem a lot of people who bought this bike in 2010 faced is the chain and sprocket giving up. The life span of the chain and sprocket is about 25,000 - 30,000 kms. I've never owned any other bike, so i don't have a comparison here. Another bit of an issue i had was the front forks, i had oil seal leaks a lot. Every time i hit a pretty deep pothole or had a hard impact i would end up breaking the oil seal on the right hand side of my front fork.
5. Pros & cons:
Pros-
Great for city commute
Bike has stayed alive for a good period of time
Still, looks decent
Cons-
Mileage was a little to be desired
The original mrf tyres were shit, i had to switch to michelins which have worked really well, please don't replace your fz tyres with mrf ones
All my pillion riders complained of discomfort for longer journeys

The power when i was riding it was just awesome. I can easily follow karizma. 3 years back i bought fzs and it is just like new from engine, the power is still the same. Expenses i have to made is under 1000 in every service. Its just nothing if you want to purchase that bike. It feels from the heart when you drive it own highways.

Hi friends
I owned this bike in 2012 . My dad gave me a surprise gift. First of all this bike have so much of power i couldn't explain to you. The riding position is very good you do not feel pain. Now about look as you know it look abrasive every part is very beautiful. Performance is also very good it has good torque and it gives mileage around 35 to 40 kmpl . If you are passionate about bikes or for daily commute i refer you this bike

After doing a lot of research and going through various bikes from my list i finalized yamaha fzs fi 2017 which i bought on 28th July 2017. Instead of writing the whole story i am giving you the pros & cons (as per my opinion)
Pros:
Looks, stance, chunky tyres and ultimate smoothness the bike offers, almost zero vibrations, soft suspension, nice torque, cornering is the best.
Cons:
After 104 km/hr it literally crawls to go further, seat cushioning could have been better, i am a tall guy and needs the handle to be a bit higher but still good, last but not the least ground clearance which is the worst part with 160 mm of ground clearance the bike spanks ground on speed-breakers... Potholes , absence of side footrest for Indian saree wearing moms, horn feels quite girlish as if it is from a scooty.
Summary:
Happy with the bike but what it falls short on the bumps and on a more comfortable seat.

Overall performance is good. Best bike for everyday use by yamaha. Good mileage, looks, price, engine.
Low maintenance. I get it serviced once a year, but even then it does not trouble. I ride it daily for about 40-45 kms. I get mileage of 51 kmpl.
So, according to me it is the best bike i have ever used.
I will strongly recommend this who is looking for looks and mileage together for daily commute.
