TVS Zeppelin is expected to launch in India in October 2021 in the expected price range of ₹ 1,15,000 to ₹ 1,25,000. Currently available bikes which are similar to Zeppelin are Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220, Bajaj Avenger Street 160 & Suzuki Gixxer. Another bike similar to Zeppelin is Yamaha XSR 155 which is launching in October 2021 in India.
The TVS Zeppelin is a concept from the Hosur-based manufacturer. However, concepts displayed at the Delhi Auto Expo by TVS have a habit of making it into production, so the Zeppelin is worth a look. Even on its own, the Zeppelin has some very interesting features: powering it is a 220cc liquid-cooled motor, but supplementing this engine’s output is an Integrated Starter Generator, which can provide extra motive power to the engine. There is also a 1200W regenerative assist motor with a 48V Li-ion battery that can add to the class-leading performance. A side effect is also class-leading fuel efficiency. Neither a power output figure nor a fuel efficiency figure was claimed by the company.
The other hardware includes gold-painted upside-down front forks, all-LED lighting, a ‘bio-key’ speedometer, and online connectivity. There is also an integrated action camera on the motorcycle – no doubt a feature that excites all motorcycle vloggers everywhere.
TVS has opted for a power cruiser format, like the Ducati Diavel and the Bajaj Dominar. This is a format that will appeal to a wide audience. It is also a format that TVS has not had until now, so it makes sense for them to branch out into it.
A lot of the features that were seen at the Auto Expo will not make it into production, of course, but the Zeppelin is an interesting product nevertheless.
