One year 11000 kms detailed review.

1. Buying experience : Dealer sold this bike to me on a price higher than other TVS dealers in entire city. And brand new bike had a tilt, weight is leaned to one side which i figured out after few days. When you ride it, it goes to right side when you leave the handle free. No action was taken from dealer. Never mind. I adopted to it.
2. Riding experience : Comfortable. Handles good. Handling is on little bit heavier side but very planted and stable to go around. Rear suspension is on harder side. And mono shock is not meant to live long. Mono shock got damaged going over a yellow black small speed breaker while riding on 23 km/h. Had to replace it just after 1 yr. 2 months.
3. Looks are subjective, acceptable but could be better. Fit finish of plastic is worst in the category. No matter how careful you ride or look after your bike it is going to age very soon. Even metal parts started getting rust in the first year only.
Performance : Punchy engine, 44 km/l of average when riding sensibly. Breaking is very bad. Inefficient on high speeds
(around130kmph) gears aren't smooth. Short gearing makes it a pain in traffic as you need to shift very frequently.
4. Servicing is considerable but parts are expensive for a bike of this category.
Maintenance : requires a lot of time and attention to maintain it. Else its going to die soon.
Pros. Ride quality, mileage, performance of engine.
Cons. Brakes, fit finish of plastic panels, comparably expensive parts. Side stand quality and placement. Gear shifts.
Verdict : A really good product from TVS with cheap materials and poor fit finish. Could have been way better on this price.

Tips for TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

Ride under 4-5k rpm to get better mileage. If you go above 7k rpm it will give you amazing power but very less mileage. Keep the idle rpm as low as possible to get better performance. Keep on check the clutch adjustment. Wear helmet as it has no air protection.

Slightly costly should be 1.2 lac on road but the way companies hike their prices, middle class cannot afford what they dream of, but from the bike point of view, look are very appealing specially headlamp hope TVS fixes this tank vibration and I personally own glamour but my next bike will be RTR 1604V. I need good and aggressive look, and cannot afford bike which gives below 40 mileage. Good at touring and city ride too

I have been facing too many issues since I purchased this TVS Apache 160 4v bike. I don't want to mention a long list of issues. The recent issue is the silencer sound problem. It sounds like 20 year old tempo. I showed it to the service centre but they were unable to solve the issue. They are saying to change the silencer and pay some 10 or 12 thousand rupees.

Testing on live. A bike with great balance i would say. In a city like mumbai, it's difficult to deal with traffic, but this bike has been so comfortable. Good control. Suspension is fantastic. On the mileage side, bike has consistently give me 42-45 km/l. In high speed runs too, the performance has been very satisfactory. I would highly recommend this bike. Although, people who are comfortable with heavy bikes should get this as it is a bit on a heavier side compared to it's peers.

Bike is really good, Showroom staff are nice but TVs service center people are not good. I had one small issue and they didn't do anything after showing them for the 6th time. Bike performance is good in both commute and long drive, so smooth, no vibrations, mileage is better now after 2nd service. It gives around 40-45. In long drive it gave me 50 km/l in the speed of 70. If you want to know anything about the bike. Feel free to comment I will respond to you guys.
Riding experience is excellent with powerful pickup and good mileage.
    Servicing is economical.
Pro. Best performance in its segment.
    Cons. Availability of spare parts
