TVS Apache RTR review

4 days ago by Kashaf116 views

Nice bikeit's a awesome bike. The engine power is too good & the abs makes boom your riding. It's a too good bike for racer , the gear shifting is too good. Rear disc is too effective, its boost your confidence during riding. The handling is too good, and the fog lamp are damn cool, looks like a beast. The overall look is awesome and the finishing of all component is sharp and clean. The look is similar to bmw 300. The exhaust is awesome.
I've to say its a perfect bike is 200 cc segment.
But the lack of 6th gear & a little smaller size of front disc
Very good, comfortable when it was for long journey. Nice suspension, also bike sound or mileage is far better than other 200 cc bike. Tvs is very trusted company for me. Its service center is very friendly for me, the bike is very smooth. No vibration over 100 speed.

I own this bike for almost a year and this bike lives up to its legacy.
The pros about this bike :
    1) Torque addicted Engine- the engine is super refined and when it comes to commuting on a busy Monday this beast is yours to take on any situation.
    2) Loaded Console - the instrument console is loaded with a ton of features which are unlikely to be offered in this segment.
    3) A definite head turner.
    4) The base loaded exhaust note is a symphony for bike lovers.
    5) Ergonomics - if you are above 171cm this bike wont disappoint you in terms of ergonomics. Not sure for short riders.
    Cons for the bike :
    1) The brakes could have been better in terms of the bite they offer.
    2) Pirelli is still a miss.

Yes, definitely yes, tvs service centre are pathetic, I only used free services which tvs provides later and still now I service my bike by my self. Yes, it also gives a pleasure.

Always been a fan Of Apache, so in 2019 decided to go for Apache RTR 2004V 2.0 Race Edition in spite of being told by a lot of people that TVS service is not good. Went to the showroom the salesman didn't seem very interested in selling the bike. Still as I loved the bike I went for it. Since I got the bike in March 2019 the bike is giving a lot if trouble.
    1. The bike takes time to start and even once when it starts it stops in the middle and does not want to start immediately.
    2. The speedometer, gear sensor does not work always. Check speedometer sign always comes up even after service.
    3. In spite of servicing the bike from time to time I have to always go to the service center every month with some or the other problem like fuel leaking, check speedometer, bike stops while running, bike not starting, bike loosing power and many more.
    4. The service by the service center is a different issue all together. No service reminder from the service center. Staff uncooperative. Unavailability of parts. All work not done in one service again have to go again and again to the service center. Wanted to replace a simple part like handle grip in Feb 2020 and its not been replaced yet as it is not available yet in Oct 2021. Also every time they say they will get back to you they won't you will have to call them yourself.
    5. If within 2 years the bike is giving so much trouble then I can't imagine how it's going to be in the future.
I don't know if I got a faulty piece or something but the TVS Staff wasn't very helpful to make it right so would not recommend to go for it.

This is to bring to your notice that my recently purchased tvs apache rtr200 4v bs6 bike is not working as expected. I really disappointed with my purchase. I did purchase in feb-2021 and within 6 months, my bike started giving problems.
    1. Fuel indicator issue – fuel indicator stopped working. I checked with your service centre twice. They repaired but again the same issue started within 10 days of repair. I don’t know how much fuel in my bike. They charged me for the same.
    2. Fuel tank issue – fuel tank got leaked within 4 months of purchase and got it repaired by paying additional charges.
    3. Water in rainy season – water got inside as soon as rain started. I had to pay twice to service centre to get that clear. How new bike can take water inside fuel tank? they should have not charged for it as this is manufacturing defect but they charged.
    4. Break issue – now my bike has started making noise when I press front break. I think there is some issue in the break.
All these issues started within a six month of purchase. Very disappointed. Paid more than 15k for repair within 6 months.
Let me know how can you help me in this. Take a bike back and replace or give my money back and take your bike back. Worst thing to purchase.

Previously owned ns 200. But Apache feels underpowered on highways especially with no 6th gear. This is a good bike in city but the fit and finish of parts could have been better. On highways as this doesn't have 6th gear, the bike revs in 5th gear a lot. You can feel constant vibrations beyond 85 km/h. Have seen a lot of rust here and there. This bike could have gone with liquid cooled engine as I feel oil cooling is not optimum, could have gone with a fatter front tyre for overall look.
Previous ownership of ns 200 was better but in the city ns200 needed a lot of gear changes but on highways ns 200 was way better. Handling I feel both the bikes handle well with good tyres. I used Michelins on both of them and the handling and grip improved drastically.
Don't go for features only because some of the features don't work properly on my rtr for example the gear indicator sensor needs tweaking at every service. Bike has been maintained well but problem is still there.
