The first thing to notice is the pickup. I am awestruck with its performance, it runs smooth and gains a speed of 60 within no time(3-4 secs).

Controlling is easy and looks are great.

The mileage varies depending on driving speed but with proper care we can attain mileage nearer to the given mileage.

  • Over all i love this bike

    Debasis

    Style excellent.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox engine is good but fuel economy is very less as i have expected before.

Ride quality & handling nice handeling and comfort riding

final words over all a nice bike compared to all 180cc bike available in india.

    Areas of improvement

1.. Can change silencer pipe a bit shorter to give a attractive look.

2.. Mirriors are not looking as good for the 180cc bike.

3.. Can put spread seat option to feel like a racing bike.

    Pros

    sound's good, looks fabulus

    cons

gear box is hard, fuel economy is just 30 km/lt.

  • A man and his trusted steed

    Ajit Menon M

The bond between a man & his motorcycle is almost like the one between the navi & those mountain banshees in avatar. It’s something special & every time the rider swings his legs over the seat, the bond only becomes stronger.

It’s almost 6 years now but i still vividly remember the day i rode my apache rtr 180 (no-abs) out of the showroom. At that time, this bike seemed to be the best and the prettiest in the market, especially the one in white. My pocket was not the only thing that was lighter for my mood was also buoyant. Having almost little or no experience in riding one, my decision to purchase a bike was on the premise that i knew how to ride a scooter & how to drive a car. Since a bike is a combination of the two where you need to know how to balance something on 2 wheels & know how to shift, i had assumed that it would be easy. And surprisingly my assumption turned out to be right because i instantly connected with the bike (who’s laughing now :p).

The 17 horses at your command at a twist of the throttle is great but the engine feels a little out of breath when you have a pillion rider & especially if that person is a little on the heavy side. This is a great bike to learn riding on. The over square engine which can rev really fast gives it its name (rtr - racing throttle response) & 0-70 happens pretty quickly which makes it great for riding in cities. The engine sound is this throaty roar which sounds so nice that even my sister didn’t fail to notice it. Going uphill is a lot of fun as banking comes naturally on this and the bike is quite flickable too and this is quite useful when there is a lot of traffic because you will be lane splitting and in front of the crowd in no time.

The company claims a top speed of 124 kmph & i did hit 127 kmph once on a slightly downhill stretch on a highway (makes me wonder about the accuracy of the speedometer). The bike has done about 37k km so far and still hits 124 kmph on highways. Beyond 70 kmph, the handle bar does vibrate a lot & an hour or two of continuous riding would usually leave your hands numb and numerous tea breaks while cruising on highways is the norm. The almost commuter segment type posture that the rider has to take is easy on the back but during braking, you would feel some stress on your palms.

The disc brakes are great (both front and rear) and it’s pretty easy to skid the rear wheel (and leave your mark on this world) by pressing hard on the rear brake lever. Though i haven’t done any really long trips so far (the longest one i did was about 3100 km), it has never let me down in between any trips i’ve done (so far, touchwood). Apart from having to change the chain-sprocket kit twice (one quite recently), i haven’t had to make any major repairs so far which talks a lot about the reliability of the bike. There are some issues with the electricals currently but nothing that cannot be fixed. The front fork seals have also ruptured many times, but it could be due to the potholes the bike had to tackle.

Though i’m currently planning to upgrade to a bigger and more powerful bike, i don’t think i would ever be able to part with my rtr because of all the memories attached to it. The rtr will always remain a part of the stable, something to help me reminisce in my old age (if i live that long that is), all the adventures and all the great times i had thanks to this wonderful little machine.

Hi friends i purchased new apache rtr 180 on 28th may 2017.I think its a good bike but now i realize that its not a good bike for a common man its for those who can drive fast and can afford its mileage. It gives only 25 per ltr mileage and if you ride it fast then its vibration can create problems for you.

Its not good bike for me and for my types of people.

Buying experience: i had this bike in the year of 2013, i really loved the (led) model especially the white beast

    Details about looks, performance etc.:

Looks depend up on the taste of the individual person.

Performance: so far i have completed 600 km per day, i don't find any problem in completing this km.

    pros:

    1. Very enthu in all speeds below 130

    2. Good millage even the rider screws the bike

    3. Excellent low end performance under 80

    4. Best class price and performance

    5. My top speed is 138 km/hr (with our any modification), 0-6- in 3.6 Seconds and average fuel consumption: 40-43 km/liter

    cons:

    1. Vibration is high in mid performance

    2. Some times speedometer error

    3. Noisee engine if we crossed 400 km with out any rest.

    4. Average in aerodynamics

  • Good bike at good price

    Sourav Ghosh

It was time for me to get a motorcycle for myself. The budget was restricted to rs. 1 lakh and the list had to have the best motorcycles within the budget. There wasn’t any option to get a second hand motorcycle and hence the list narrowed down to the tvs apache rtr 180. The apache rtr 180 has been in our stable for about 1 year and has completed more than 5,000 kms and all this while we’ve been just enjoying the bike. The rtr which stands for racing throttle response actually lives up to it. The styling is one element which makes the presence of the bike felt. Though the motorcycle is small and has only a few body panels, those panels do show off pretty nicely. The bike came with a few grey coloured graphics which look subtle and the only thing that the abs version gets is the 3d apache emblem as it is the top line offering from tvs. There’s something special about the instrument cluster of the apache which is an analogue-digital meter displaying a lot of information. It offers features like a top speed recorder, 0-60 km/hr sprint timer and a lap timer. The rest of the details such as trip meter, odometer, etc. Are displayed on the digital console. The cluster gets a blue back-light which is super bright and the digital lcd is easy to read. Even after 1 year, the digital meter is clear and displays details clearly. The tvs apache 180 weight being 139 kgs and the engine belting out 17 bhp of power at engine: 177.4 cc ,mileage : 45 kmpl fuel type : petrol chassis type : double cradle synchro stiff suspension-front : telescopic forks suspension-rear........................

  • The amazing apache rtr 180

    Junaid Ul Haq

I bought a new apache rtr 180 beast 1 month ago. Yesterday me and my friends gone for a trip on two bikes (apache and pulsar 200 dtsi) we had done a couple of drags. Above all our predictions we really amazed. The bike really scarily fast. It touched a top speed of 109kmph. It raised above the pulsar really like a beast. Superb pickup, stunning look,42-48 mileage, extreme power and above all supreme handling. King of all 180cc bikes.

    Thanks

  • Owner review after successful 2 years

    Ashish Bhardwaj

I have bought my bike on 6th Nov 2015.

It's been 2 years now and i have completed 16578km on it.

Riding experience is great until now. I have done the longest ride of 450km in a single day without any break. It heats a lot after continuous 450km (such long rides without break are not recommended).

    Looks: 8/10

    Performance:9/10

    Service centers:10/10

    Comfort: best in this segment

    Pros:

    1. Power: you have enough power in every gear

    2. Throttle response: it's awesome

    3. Riding comfort: best in this segment

    4. Bigger fuel tank: 16l with good mileage between 35-40

    5. Better comfort for pillion

    Cons:

    1. Engine vibrations: they really sucks on highways, i hate it when bike vibrates like hell at high speeds (>100)

    2. Air cooled

    3. Front number plate holder is of bad quality, mine is broke up due to offroading

Till now, i have changed my rear tyre at 13000km, disk pads at 11000km

I'll recommend this bike for daily commuting + stunting

    Thanks

    Ashish Bhardwaj

I have bought my bike on 6th Nov 2015.

It's been 2 years now and i have completed 16578km on it.

Riding experience is great until now. I have done the longest ride of 450km in a single day without any break. It heats a lot after continuous 450km (such long rides without break are not recommended).

    Looks: 8/10

    Performance:9/10

    Service centers:10/10

    Comfort: best in this segment

    Pros:

    1. Power: you have enough power in every gear

    2. Throttle response: it's awesome

    3. Riding comfort: best in this segment

    4. Bigger fuel tank: 16l with good mileage between 35-40

    5. Better comfort for pillion

    Cons:

    1. Engine vibrations: they really sucks on highways, i hate it when bike vibrates like hell at high speeds (>100)

    2. Air cooled

    3. Front number plate holder is of bad quality, mine is broke up due to offroading

Till now, i have changed my rear tyre at 13000km, disk pads at 11000km

I'll recommend this bike for daily commuting + stunting

    Thanks

    Yogendra Bhaskar

Hi friends i purchased new apache rtr 180 on 28th may 2017.I think its a good bike but now i realize that its not a good bike for a common man its for those who can drive fast and can afford its mileage. It gives only 25 per ltr mileage and if you ride it fast then its vibration can create problems for you.

Its not good bike for me and for my types of people.

    Deepak

A very good bike i like it with good bhp

Riding experience is awesome with good handling even at the corners, edges performance of bike is also very good having good bhp more than other bikes and displacement is also more than other bikes of same range and the top speed of 125 km per hour service cost is quite costly rather it is best bike in 180 cc and better than most of the 150 cc and 160cc bikes

Performance of bike is very awesome

0-100 km in just 12.7 second

The result at the end it is best bike in under 1 lakh with great performance

some how mileage gets down if u miss its service

    Hari Krishnaa

Buying experience: i had this bike in the year of 2013, i really loved the (led) model especially the white beast

riding experience: so far i have completed 55k km. I had lots and lots of lovable memories about my beast.

    Details about looks, performance etc.:

Looks depend up on the taste of the individual person.

Performance: so far i have completed 600 km per day, i don't find any problem in completing this km.

Servicing and maintenance: i am a mechanic too so wont let any person touch my brother in the name of service. Very reliable product and low maintenance cost

    pros:

    1. Very enthu in all speeds below 130

    2. Good millage even the rider screws the bike

    3. Excellent low end performance under 80

    4. Best class price and performance

    5. My top speed is 138 km/hr (with our any modification), 0-6- in 3.6 Seconds and average fuel consumption: 40-43 km/liter

    cons:

    1. Vibration is high in mid performance

    2. Some times speedometer error

    3. Noisee engine if we crossed 400 km with out any rest.

    4. Average in aerodynamics

    5. No comfort for pillion rider for long drive

  • Best bike under 1 lakh

  • Biker experience in 180 beast for more than 4+years drove

    Hari Krishnaa

Buying experience: i had this bike in the year of 2013, i really loved the (led) model especially the white beast

riding experience: so far i have completed 55k km. I had lots and lots of lovable memories about my beast.

    Details about looks, performance etc.:

Looks depend up on the taste of the individual person.

Performance: so far i have completed 600 km per day, i don't find any problem in completing this km.

Servicing and maintenance: i am a mechanic too so wont let any person touch my brother in the name of service. Very reliable product and low maintenance cost

    pros:

    1. Very enthu in all speeds below 130

    2. Good millage even the rider screws the bike

    3. Excellent low end performance under 80

    4. Best class price and performance

    5. My top speed is 138 km/hr (with our any modification), 0-6- in 3.6 Seconds and average fuel consumption: 40-43 km/liter

    cons:

    1. Vibration is high in mid performance

    2. Some times speedometer error

    3. Noisee engine if we crossed 400 km with out any rest.

    4. Average in aerodynamics

    5. No comfort for pillion rider for long drive

    Thanks
