About Akula 310 (Apache RR 310S)
The TVS Akula concept was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and it surprised everyone. Built to commemorate 33 years of TVS Racing, this all out track tool has been developed to be a winner on the track. Wrapped in a carbon fibre body, the Akula has been built on the BMW G310 R platform.
Even though the road ready version has not been unveiled yet, it has been spotted testing. From the spy shot, we could tell that the motorcycle will keep most of its styling and features headlights in place of the air ducts it had cut out on the concept motorcycle.
The Akula has been built on the BMW G310R platform. It gets a liquid cooled 313cc single cylinder petrol mill mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The BMW developed engine develops 34bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. The concept also got adjustable suspension, a steering damper to stress on its track focus, which mostly won’t make it to the road-ready version.
The Akula 310, if it is built, has a tough task ahead. It goes head on with the KTM RC390, the Yamaha R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
