The Speed Twin 1200 is a modern-classic motorcycle that sits towards the top of Triumph’s range of modern-classic bikes in India. For 2025, the design has been updated to blend the classic and modern elements very well. The company has also introduced three colours- white, red, and silver.
Under the bodywork is a cradle-type frame that is suspended by a USD fork and twin-shock absorbers. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with Metzeler Sportec M9RR tyres, while braking is done by twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear.
In terms of features, the bike gets-cornering ABS, ride modes, traction control, and an LCD cluster with a multifunction TFT and navigation. There’s a nifty USB-C charger as well.
Powering the Triumph Speed 1200 is a 1,200cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 103.5bhp at 7,750rpm and 112Nm at 4,250rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
The bike is known for its punchy performance and delectably sweet handling. It serves as a nice blend of sporty performance and handling with a timeless, classic motorcycle design.

It’s an amazing motorcycle for those who appreciate retro bikes and their character. The top speed of this bike is around 220 km/h, which it reaches effortlessly, with brutal acceleration that can throw you off if you’re not careful. The bike generates 113 Nm of torque, similar to superbikes like the S1000, but this high torque is available on the Speed Twin at around 4,000 rpm, making the power more usable and practical in terms of real-world performance. The RS version is a delight, and you can’t go wrong with it if you understand what style means. The only downside is the price; the RS version is significantly more expensive than the standard model due to its premium components. Additionally, it’s not a cheap bike to maintain. However, if it’s a passion for you, then affordability becomes secondary.
