Triumph 400 T4: Not Just a Bike, a Brand Statement

I have completed around 11,000 km on my Triumph 400 T4, and I can confidently say it is a worthwhile 400cc performance machine. The bike performs excellently both in city commuting and long-distance rides. The maximum speed I have achieved is 130 km/h, and it remain stable and confident at high speeds. The mileage I experience is around 25 km/litre, which is reasonable for this segment. In heavy city traffic, engine heating is noticeable, but during long rides, heating is minimal and well managed. The rear tyre and chain sprocket typically last about 11,000–12,000 km.While synthetic brake pads are affordable, their lifespan is quite short. Regular and timely servicing helps keep the bike in excellent condition. However, the cost of new chain sprockets and cone ball bearings is quite high, which slightly increases maintenance expenses overall.

Overall the dealership experience was decent, the bike is light considering it's a 400cc. The handling is awesome, I'm not very satisfied with the brakes they worn out easily. City mileage is between 24-30 and highway you'll get 35+ based on your riding style overall a great value for money bike by triumph

Owner review of riding it for 5000km

I’ve been riding the Triumph Speed 400 for some time now, and it has been an impressive experience overall. The first thing that stands out is its excellent stability. Whether navigating through traffic or cruising on highways, the bike feels planted and confidence-inspiring. Its low-end torque is a major advantage, offering strong pull even at lower RPMs, which makes it ideal for city riding. You don’t need frequent gear shifts, and that smooth power delivery adds a lot to everyday comfort. In terms of performance and efficiency, I’m getting a mileage of around 31 km/l, which is quite good for a 400cc motorcycle. It strikes a great balance between power and practicality, allowing you to enjoy spirited rides without worrying too much about fuel economy. The service cost is slightly higher than regular bikes, which is expected from a premium brand like Triumph. However, the service quality and attention to detail make it worth it. One minor drawback is the brake pad life — depending on your braking habits, they may need replacement every 2,500 km or so. It’s manageable but something riders should keep in mind while calculating maintenance costs.Overall, the Triumph Speed 400 delivers a refined and stable ride with smooth performance and excellent handling. It’s easy to maneuver in the city, yet powerful enough for occasional highway rides. The combination of strong torque, premium build, and balanced ergonomics makes it a motorcycle that truly stands out in its segment. If you’re looking for a bike that offers performance, comfort, and everyday usability, the Triumph Speed 400 is a great choice. It’s not just about speed — it’s about the joy and confidence it gives every time you twist the throttle.

It was my first 400 cc bike. The bike has adequate power and performance Suspension can be adjusted as per our comfort from 0-5. Highway long rides require stiff suspension for higher speeds I'm getting mileage of 29 in the city, 32 -33 in the highway, with a cruising speed of 90-100Using 95 octane petrol alone Cons Brake biting force is not adequate; needs to change brake pads. While the cornering stock tyre is not giving confidence.
