The Speed T4 is the most affordable Triumph one can buy in India. It is based on the Speed 400 but gets cheaper cycle parts to bring the cost down. Aesthetically, it is almost identical to the Speed 400, but in terms of riding dynamics, it is likely to be different.

The Triumph Speed T4 is tasked with bringing in riders who want a rather chilled-out motorcycle. More importantly, it is a bike that can take on the best sellers in the segment.

Best Value Roadster in 400cc Segment – Powerful, Refined & Comfortable for All-Round Usage

        Manda Kalyan Reddy

I am sharing my ownership review of the Triumph Speed 400 (T4) after completing my first service.
This motorcycle stands out as one of the best value-for-money offerings in the 350–400cc segment, especially for riders looking for a balance between performance, comfort, and premium styling.
        Performance & Engine:
The bike is powered by a 398.15cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, delivering strong low-end torque and linear power delivery. The throttle response is crisp, and the refinement levels are excellent with minimal vibrations even at higher RPMs. It performs exceptionally well in both city traffic and highway cruising.
        Ride & Handling:
The chassis setup and suspension tuning provide a well-balanced ride. Whether it's urban riding or long-distance touring, the bike feels stable and confidence-inspiring. The seating ergonomics are excellent, ensuring that even long rides do not cause fatigue.
        Braking & Safety:
The dual-channel ABS performs reliably, offering good feedback and control during sudden braking. The bike maintains stability even at higher speeds.
        Cooling & Build Quality:
The liquid cooling system with radiator works efficiently, and there are no heating issues observed even in traffic conditions. Build quality is premium, and the fit and finish are top-notch for this segment.
        Mileage:
Fuel efficiency is around 28–30 km/l, which is reasonable considering the performance and engine capacity.
        Service Experience:
The first service experience was smooth. Service costs are relatively affordable compared to other premium brands.
        Pros:
Strong and refined 398cc liquid-cooled engine
Excellent power delivery and highway capability
        Comfortable seating and riding posture
        Premium styling and road presence
Good braking performance with dual-channel ABS
        Stable at high speeds
        Cons:
Rear mudguard design leads to mud accumulation
Missing traction control (would have been better for safety)
Semi-digital instrument cluster feels slightly outdated
        Final Verdict:
Overall, the Triumph Speed 400 (T4) is an excellent choice for riders who want a premium, powerful, and comfortable motorcycle at a competitive price. It is perfectly suited for both daily commuting and long rides.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and stylish mid-capacity roadster.

        Maanes Mv

Performance and handling is excellent. In long rides my butt pains a lot. Need to upgrade the seat if you need to go for rides. For city use its excellent. Best value for money in that price range.
I am getting 28-30km/l before 1k service. Headlights are little bit on lower side. Visibility is an issue

        Dream bike & purchase

        Parth Mhaddalkar

After using the Triumph Speed T4 (Lava Red variant) one of the first things that stands out is how well the bike performs in city conditions. The engine tuning feels very friendly for everyday riding, especially in traffic. It delivers good torque at lower RPMs, so you don’t need to constantly shift gears while navigating busy streets. This makes the bike relaxed and enjoyable to ride during daily commutes.
Another strong point is the overall build quality and finish.
When it comes to comfort, the Speed T4 actually feels slightly more relaxed compared to the riumph Speed 400. The riding posture is more comfortable and upright, making it easier for longer rides or extended time in traffic
However, the T4 does sacrifice a few premium components compared to the Speed 400. For example, it does not come with the aluminium handlebars, bar-end mirrors, or the key immobiliser system that the Speed 400 offers.
The braking setup is similar to what you see on the Triumph Scrambler 400 X, and while it works fine for normal riding, I would personally recommend upgrading to aftermarket sintered brake pads. They provide a stronger bite and better braking confidence, especially when riding at higher speeds or during sudden stops.
Another useful upgrade would be switching to touring seats. Touring seats usually offer better cushioning and support, which can make a big difference on longer journeys. With a few such upgrades, the Speed T4 can easily become a very capable and comfortable touring motorcycle.
I'm getting 28KMPL, it depends on the riding style
Overall, if you are looking for a comfortable, stylish, and premium roadster for daily rides and occasional touring, the Speed T4 definitely proves to be a bike that’s truly worth buying.

T4 looks good, but if Triumph adds front USD suspension in near future, it will look more premium and appealing.

Buying expensive is good for me ,and the riding experience is also great but rear brake are not that great. And brake pads life is very short its vanishes after 2000km .and the colour scheme of t4 are not appealing as previous models, also service cost is pretty much expensive, and if they gives the radial tyres it can provide more stability on corners.

The Triumph Speed 400 T4 is a great choice for new riders or those looking for a stylish, easy-to-handle roadster with reliable performance. It offers a good balance of power, comfort, and classic Triumph charm, making it a strong contender in the entry-level naked bike segment. It is good for city rides.

        Triumph t4 review

        Vignesh

I recently bought the Triumph T4 bike, and I had a very disappointing experience. After the first servicing, the mileage dropped to just 20, which is unacceptable. Why buy it if the mileage is only 20? Additionally, the console shows incorrect details after the update. I wouldn't recommend purchasing this bike.
