The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is the more off-road-friendly version of the Scrambler 400 X. It is the latest addition in the scrambler line-up, which also includes the Scrambler 900 and the Scrambler 1200.
The Scrambler 400 XC is built around the same chassis as the 400 X, but features more off-road-centric cycle parts to distinguish itself from the standard model. The 400 XC comes equipped with tubeless cross-spoke wheels and body-coloured raised front fender and a visor. It also features a comprehensive engine protection with an aluminium sump guard, and lower engine bars.
The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC carries the same rugged styling as the standard model, but is offered in three new paint schemes – Racing Yellow, Granite, and Vanilla White. The bike also features a tank pad as standard.
Powering the Scrambler 400 XC is a 349cc, liquid-cooled engine that produces 37bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 32Nm at 6,500rpm. This single-cylinder thumper is paired with a six-speed gearbox, while an assist and slipper clutch is standard.
As for its cycle parts, the bike is suspended on 43mm upside-down front forks and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear, with a suspension travel of 150mm at both ends. The Scrambler 400 XC rides on 19/17-inch tubeless spoke wheels, wrapped in dual-purpose tyres.
Meanwhile, the braking setup includes a 320mm disc up front and a 230mm rear disc. It gets switchable dual-channel ABS as standard. Feature-wise, the Scrambler 400 XC gets a switchable traction control system, ride-by-wire throttle, full LED lighting, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. It also gets adjustable brake and clutch levers and a Type-C charging port as standard.
Although it doesn’t have a direct rival, the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC competes against the Royal Enfield Scram 440 and the Yezdi Scrambler.

I don't understand people in the community. A downsize of an engine and people are criticizing like it has shifted from a 900CC engine to 350CC. People should first Ride it, Experience it and then judge. I have ridden a 400CC and purchased a 350CC and honestly in day to day life i felt no difference at all. The only difference i got was on Highway and Considering Indian roads, Normal highways (As bikes are not allowed on Expressways) We don't have a chance to take the bike till 150-160KMPH (It feels very risky to me personally) so what are you going to do about the top speed and speed in general. Try and understand.

The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC strikes the perfect balance between rugged adventure capability and everyday usability. Its refined engine delivers smooth power, the ride quality is excellent on both city roads and rough patches, and the premium build quality stands out in the segment. The commanding riding position and confident handling make every ride enjoyable, whether it's a daily commute or a weekend escape. A true scrambler that looks stunning and performs even better.

Retro looking scrambler with modern features

I do see everyone is complaining about power and torque. Dude, ride it once you feel no difference. In fact, it is more refined. The only complaint is it is priced a bit higher, but otherwise the performance, the build and the looks are top notch. It comes with spoked wheels, which give the retro a stunning look, and yeah, it's worth buying.

Pay more for less, feel more for ... Nothing - cheap market by Bajaj Triumph negative engineering
12 weeks ago
Shashank
Bajaj downsized the engine to reduce power and torque, even removing the immobiliser. It felt like riding a 125 cc bike, with very linear power delivery and no fun in the ride, along with issues related to engine vibration. The original 398 cc engine was perfect, and the downsizing has led to a worse experience. There isn’t a significant price difference, making it seem like they are fooling customers. This appears to be their new strategy, ultimately harming the Triumph brand.

Worth It!

I have been riding my Scrambler 400 XC bike for almost a month now, and every time I ride it, it feels brand new. Most of my riding is in the city since I am an employee and don’t have the luxury of working from home, but trust me, it’s worth the investment. There are a few flaws with this bike: first, the handlebars should be a bit higher because they are wider, making the original position slightly aggressive. Second, the quality of the knuckle guards isn’t great. Third, the mileage in the city is lower than I’d like, currently at 17 KMPL, but it’s manageable. The best thing about this bike is the engine; it’s very smooth and refined. Yes, it vibrates a bit at higher speeds, but that's manageable. Overall, this bike is fantastic, and you won't regret the purchase, provided you know how to maintain it, as it does come with upkeep costs.

Like for a bike with 350 CC and it costs around 3.5 lakh here, I would just rather go for Himalayan or 390 adv x. Why would I choose an underpowered machine, while paying the same as other machines which give way more performance than this machine? We needed a better price point like it should have been at least below 3 lakh. This bike won’t be selling much, I am telling you.
