Been using the bike for about 3 months now, performance of the bike is good, it has decent power and continues to accelerate linearly even at speeds above 90. The breaking distance is low , overall good control.

It is best suited for single riders the pillion seat is not comfortable for long distances.

it has good balance and stability even on bumpy roads at high speeds.

    Cons:

    No luggage space

    Pillion seat not comfortable

Air cooled engine , emits heat in heavy traffic

    No kicker

Fi variants need min of 3l petrol in tank

Rear view mirrors too wide out thus may come in collide in heavy traffic

Stock saree guard is very weak

Not suitable for a family bike

Headlights are useless , very poor visibility in dark roads

    No split seat

    Pros:

Good mileage city and highway -48-53kmpl

    Comfortable for single rider

Fits through small gaps in traffic

    Suitable for daily usage

    Suitable for short riders

    Not very heavy

    Build quality is good

    Looks awesome !

  • Go for a ride and it will take you by surprise!!

    Ankit Shakya

I own a suzuki gixxer sf fi motogp edition.

I have always aspired for sporty motorcycles and with the likes of yamaha r15, honda cbr and ktm rcs in the market, i still went with suzuki gixxer sf fi moto gp edition and i don't remember a single day where i regret my choice.

Looks: it is indeed a fantastic looking motorcycle. The fairing on the bike is more than just the aesthetics (designed by the makers of gsx-r and aerodynamically tested) and one can instantly make out difference after riding sf and its naked sibling back to back.

Performance: fantastic throttle response, brilliant acceleration (just turn your wrist and in no time you will leave the traffic behind) and i love the way the bike dips into the corners. The exhaust sound is good and turns into a grunt above 5000 rpm which gives you a feel of a racing bike.

Mileage ~ 45 kmpl in city and around 50-52 kmpl on highway.

Ergonomics: comfortable ergonomics with upright seating position with mildly rear set foot pegs. However pillion might feel a bit uncomfortable after few hours.

Handling and stability: brilliant handling, does the triple digits easily and stable at high speeds without any recognisable vibrations.

Reliability and maintenance - i have got my bike serviced twice (scheduled maintenance) so far and hasn't costed more than rs 1000. Spare parts are cheap and easily available.

    Cons:

    1. Gear box: occasionally the gear shift a bit harder on this bike. I guess the problem should go away with time (once i have done enough kms)

    2. Headlight: though the headlight does the job but i wish it could have been a bit more brighter (maybe suzuki considered this bike mostly for city commutes)

    3. Lack of sixth gear (i know i am getting a little greedy here)

Looks like suzuki did there homework right and came out with such a potent option in the 150 cc segment. If you are looking for a sporty ride in city commutes and as well as touring, gixxer is the most value for money bike near rs 1 lac. But do not compare the performance of this bike straight away with r15 or rc 200 because everything comes at a premium price and suzuki has struck a right balance between price and performance.

Buying experience :I bought this bike in chennai suzuki showroom. Their response is not so good and they are always in need of money. The only think running in their minds through out the purchase money. After having such good bikes in their bucket, suzuki must work on their customer service to attract buyers.Riding experience :It's a pleasure to ride suzuki gixxer sf fi abs. I was in a dilemma between gixxer vs honda hornet vs yamaha fz. After riding all 3 bikes and going through few reviews, i bought gixxer. And it never proved me wrong :) you feel very confident through out the ride, and especially handling is perfect. Pick up is very good. Abs works like a charm. After riding gixxer, you don't feel confident riding other bikes. Such is comfort level gixxer provided to you. I felt suspension is very good, but i heard from pillion riders that it is a bit stiff. It can cruise around 80 kmph with no stress on engine. The top speed i have attained is 111 kmph, where you see minimal vibrations with more stability.Looks:I am using sparkling black variant. Before buying, that is my least priority colour. As that is the only immediate available bike in the showroom, i opted for that and it never let me down. Looking at blue and sp editions, i am more than happy that i have opted for black. 6th month after my purchase, it still has same glow where as the the other 2 variants faded away. So, for longer run, i would suggest to go for black colour. Service and maintenance :I am done with second service recently. Still couldn't validate their level of service. Till 10th day from the date of service, bike seems too smooth. After that, the ride is a bit hard. I could also see that chain is rusted, which might be due to improper lubrication during service. I feel it is let down.Pros :1. Good looks 2. Great pick-up 3. Mileage - 45 kmpl4. Abs 5. Ride quality 6. Comfortable Cons:1. No kick start available 2. Ground clearance is slightly low 3. Elevated pillion seat 4. Pillion rider feels a bit stiff suspension.

The waiting for the bike was about 15 days i chose the one with abs bought it as soon as it came into the market The power delivery of the bike is quite linear with smooth acceleration and tall gearing the bike can do speeds of up to 100kmph with almost no vibration post which you can feel the vibrations. The bike sounds great it has a grunt to it and looks spectacular the riding position is really comfortable the service for the gixxer is really nothing to worry about no problem there. Pros: Looks great, Good mileage (45+)Good riding posture, Fully loaded speedometer Abs, Service Con: Air cooled engine at least an oil cooled engine was expected for the price The headlight is an issue for night rides. The fi variant doesn't come with a kick starter

1)bought from dealership in ghaziabad. Delayed delivery by a month. The seller were not descriptive regarding the bike features had to self investigate, nor they provide test ride. 2)coming to ride Riding experience is great. Its solid muscular body will gives a rowdy sporty feel. 3)looks & performance Engine performance is awesome. Will never betray you in the middle of the road. Starts well with a solid sound. Braking is accurate and quite responsive. Mileage is 40 on typical Indian roads. Looks are great the double muzzle is cherry on the pie. Body like all suzuki vehicle is toy plastic. Sunlight can also break it. Stability is good due to fantastic tyres by mrf. Headlight is an illusion. Very dim. Gear shifting is not that smooth. Handling is nice cuts and steer effortlessly. 4)Service cost is cheap. Maintenance parts are readily available. 5)value for money despite some cons. Rest depends upon the owner..

  • Blue pearls procession

    Nagarajan

    1. Buying experience: i actually waited for more than a year to select a perfect bike which suits me and finally i found my blue pearl. I owned suzuki gixxer sf fi, right from the day 1 i am feel excited whenever i ride the bike.

    2. Riding experience: i am using by beast regularly for daily commute as well as long solo drive and club rides too. I never felt any back pain or any other issues the riding posture is really good. I could drive about 700 km in a day. It will be like riding in a ship, such a soft engine. No vibrations even at 100kmph -110kmph.

3.Looks: the most sexiest beast under 150-160cc segment. The blue color is eye catchy, and it will makes you to feel like your ship. That's the reason i am calling my beast as "blue pearl".

4.Performance: this ultra light robust 155cc engine is so soft at the speed of 80 to 100kmph. I love the response of the engine at 80 to 100kmph. No heating issues. I have rode my bike for more than 300km at a stretch without a single stop for 4hrs. Initially i was worried about the engine heating, but after this ride i had no worries for long rides. Again to test the performance i took a ride from 7pm to 7am a 12 hour ride and it was a big success. The most important thing what we indians look is mileage and even i selected the bike for the same reason. The mileage claim is 64kmpl and even i got the same for two or three times but i maintained the speed less than 60kmph which was slight boring in high ways. Usually i ride at 80 to 100kmph which is good for this bike and i got the mileage of 50-52kmpl, also if i ride at 60-80kmph i am getting mileage of 56kmpl, and when i ride at 120+ kmph i get only 30kpml. So the mileage depends on how you rev the throttle. And 100+kmph for longer duration is very bad for this bike and sure will spoil the engines life span. It is advisable to ride at 60 to 80 kmph in city conditions and 80 to 100kmph in highway condition. The best sports - tourer under 200cc segment. It don't have a kick start but even you stop the bike for a month and if you use the self start for first time the engine will start without any problem and will ready to roar in fraction of seconds.

    4. Service: the service at towns and rural areas are not satisfied and the technicians are not trained properly, but the service in city is good only in selected service centers.

5.Maintenance : maintenance cost is affordable and reasonable. Easy to maintain. Advisable to change the engine oil before 3000km.

    Pros:

    1. Fuel efficiency is good.

    2. Throttle response is good compare to carb variant.

    3. Engine declaration is pretty much better.

    4. A perfect sports - touring bike.

    5. Affordable and worth for the money.

    6. Good instrument console and digital meter.

    7. Suspension is adjustable and smooth.

    8. Can used for street fight, long ride, daily commute. An all-rounder bike.

    9. Design and color is eye catchy.

    10. It can easily resist the wind in highway which results in good mileage than gixxer normal variant

    Cons:

    1. Being dual disc rear wheel will skid as soon as you apply the brake. So braking should be done carefully.

    2. Mirrors can't be used in city. It is too lengthy and often your mirrors will get loosened.

    3. Headlamp brightness is not sufficient.

    4. Modifications should be done very carefully since this is no earthed bike. Any modification will destroy the battery life or even the entire circuit too.

    5. Don't have a kick start, its not a problem.

    6. Pillion seat size is very small and they will make you to stop the bike periodically.

A great package all together. Superb initial pick-up, great riding posture, handling and performance are phenomenal. The only thing i felt bad was the gear shifting, it's a bit too hard. The addition of sixth gear could have done wonders as well. But overall it's a punchy, peppier and a great machine. I own the sf fi abs version. So the review is based on this variant only.

So i got this bike like a week ago, i was going to buy the r15 but being my first bike everyone suggested me to buy this. At first i thought it'll be a letdown but trust me i was completely wrong! this bike has a really good body to weight ratio and ride height so anyone around 5'5 to 6 and above can ride this very comfortably. It's going to around 45-50 kms a litre which is really really good! and it has abs fi which is a plus at this price. Its very comfortable for daily commute and long rides and the seating posture is very less aggressive. I'd rate this bike around 7/10 for looks 8/10 for performance it's a really good bike to start your first riding experience as well as for experienced riders too. I hope my review helps you out a bit.

  • Blue pearls procession

    Shreyas

    Shreyas
