Well i am the 1st buyer of SF250 moto gp in my state. There is no better bike than sf 250 in the quarter litre sport bike segment. This bike is solely responsible for uprooting Honda cbr from the Indian market. As i have owned a cbr 250 also, I can easily say SF 250 is much better. The engine is smoother and more refined, looks much better than CBR n KTM RCs which look too bad after the bs6 update. Only R15 v3 is close to the looks but v3 is ridiculously expensive as a 150 cc bike.
Coming to the performance, it is gonna be 2 years now from the date of purchase and this bike never had any major or minor breakdown apart from the battery issue in lockdown. It can be easily used for your daily city rides. With a ground clearance of 165 mm, it absorbs the bumps smoothly. On a track or even on highway, u can touch 150 easily on the speedometer. I have even gone to the beach side of my state riding it for 4 hours and have not felt any pain. With the stock tyres of MRF revz, it is the best bike as RCs also come with the same stock tyre now after the bs6 update and R15 v3 and even Ninja 300 have MRF zappers as stock tyres which will last for hardly 2 years. The only bike better than it is RR 310 which has become a dream bike after the bs6 update but the only reason I didn't buy it was the unavailability of the blue colour. Finally, I must conclude that my biggest satisfaction came when my mom could sit on the sf 250 comfortably that she could never do on the cbr for 6 yrs.

Tips for Suzuki Gixxer SF 250

Servicing and change of engine oil should be done every 6 months.

Simply the best of bike one can get. The 250cc engine churns out enough power to overtake the vehicles in the city as well as highways. The sitting comfort is pretty decent. I have done a 980 km ride in a single day on this machine and never felt a pain in my back although my legs felt a bit cramped after I had done 700 km. The engine is super reliable, 30,000kms done on ODO & never has this bike left me stranded on the road. The build quality is also good. Simply love it.

Due to financial issues purchased this underrated machine in the second market in an absolute steal deal. When I ride for the first time fall in love with engine performance and the look. It's a gentleman-type engine in below 6,000 rpm. But when we raise the throttle upward to the 6k rpm the bike gets monstrous mode. The chassis and dynamics and Dual channel abs help to control every momentum of the bike. Services and maintenance are really cheaper than an xpulse. Pros.. good engine handling and you can do anything with this machine. Cons
Spares have some issues and clutch on a tighter side and gear tight issue feels in traffic.

    1. Buying experience - had 1 month waiting period, but got it on time. smooth transaction.
    2. Riding experience - the motor is rev-friendly and butter smooth. good torque at lower rpm. good for a city commute. can dash out of traffic and green light really quickly.
    3. looks - looks are not that sporty or aggressive like KTM RC bikes. but can give a bigger bike feel when u ride it.
4 - Servicing - The biggest drawback when compared to the KTM service center is the lack of premium-ness. Suzuki service centers feel really cheap. imagine taking a 2 lakh plus rs bike for servicing and u see a bunch of scooters everywhere. also, the lack of knowledge regarding some issues can be seen by servicing guys. this happens cos they are mostly busy with different vehicles without any resemblance in structure or parts. eg - KTM bikes are different but they are all bikes and many components are shared across the range. so the guys have good knowledge of issues faced by riders.
    5- pros -
-super smooth and creamy engine even at high speed,
    -super fast n torque,
    -comfortable rider seat,
    -good front brakes,
    -cheap maintenance,
    -big macho bike feel,
    -gripey tires
    cons -
-The ride connection is inaccurate and looks unprofessional. not accurate like Google Maps.
-The front windshield is too short for a bike of this size.
    -rear seat too small
-The rear brakes need more bite.
-The service center is common for Suzuki scooters and bikes.
-mirrors do get lost fast cos of that single bolt connection if u close them every time during parking time.
-chrome plated exhaust looks cheap, should have been black or grey.
    - The plastic fin on the tail rod below the rear light is unnecessary.

The engine is a gem, with no vibration, and really smooth along the rev range. The bike itself is muscular and offers a big bike feel, yet at 161kgs feels light as well. Power delivery is so amazing. I got around 34kmpl mileage in the city before 1st service. I mostly used to ride at a speed of 70 to 80 in the cities. The braking is decent. Not spectacular or worse. It does the job. Led lights at the front offer great visibility at low lights. The rear led light looks cool.
I wish the turn indicators were led as well. I am really not happy with the visor which is practically useless. Had to get an after-market DB visor which works fine. Even the horn is pathetic. Feels like a scooter horn.

Most people have really missed this bike, it is the only bike for highway, city, village, mileage is excellent, looks attractive, speed is like wind if you give a challenge you can beat any of the car. crazy racing, when you sit on the bike so it feels like going on a long ride, the bike was specially made for travel.

There is a slight difference between r15 and this if you want looks then go for r15, if you want raw power... I would choose Gixxer any day, reliable on bad road conditions, and you might have to keep an eye during rainy seasons, but overall very satisfying product, doesn't need whatsoever ever fancy service, and provides long-lasting fun.

  • VFM, easy to maintain and looks big n bold

    Nivas

    Pros:
    1. Simple 250cc engine with good performance
    2. Easy to maintain, not necessary to take to service centre often, much reliable
    3. No heating issues
    4. Good kmpl for 250cc motorcycle
    5. Riding ergonomics
    6. Good stock headlights
    Cons:
    1. Poor service from showrooms
    2. Little mods available
    3. Fit and finish could be better but for the price it is ok
    4. Need a visor change for better win protection
    5. Stockhorn is the worst
    6. Tank grips should have been there
    7. It's a hassle to find spares but aftermarkets do better than originals.

Mods I did: 1. Changed the exhaust slip-on to aftermarket and still get 38kmpl, please don't remove CAT, open pipes will harm the engine with zero performance increase. 2. Bought an R15 visor and fitted it over the existing one for better wind protection 3. I Bought Himalayan tank grips that work well too 4. Apollo tyres are better than stock MRF, you will see a ton of changes in roading after new tyres 5. Chain sprocket from roll-on brass coated is way better than stock 6. Stock lights are awesome and still added a couple of HJG for highway long beams, better long-range visibility. 7. Changed stock horn to better one 8. Removed saree guards and chain guards for easy chain cleaning & maintenance. Every mod is worth it and will make your riding experience much better.

    Ashish Singh

Simply the best of bike one can get. The 250cc engine churns out enough power to overtake the vehicles in the city as well as highways. The sitting comfort is pretty decent. I have done a 980 km ride in a single day on this machine and never felt a pain in my back although my legs felt a bit cramped after I had done 700 km. The engine is super reliable, 30,000kms done on ODO & never has this bike left me stranded on the road. The build quality is also good. Simply love it.

    Arun

    Buying experience -
I had purchased this bike from Natwest Suzuki, Chennai on 8-7-23. The process was long as the approval for BS 6 II was pending at the time I booked. The owner himself was very helpful and entire registration and other process took 10 days
    Riding experience -
I have covered 350 kms in 10 days, mostly daily commute. So far so good. Handling is excellent
    Performance and looks -
Performance is awesome, this quarter litre motor pulls nicely to triple digit speeds and is butter smooth at 80-90 kmph range. No lags or struggle, the engine is smooth at 30 kmph even in 5th gear.
Look wise I feel front visor is smaller and makes bike look childish.
    Pros -
    1. Powerful engine
    2. Decent mileage
    3. No back/wrist/shoulder pain for a sports bike
    4. Pillion seat is comfortable compared to rivals
    5. LED headlamps are awesome
    6. Bluetooth connectivity is superb
    7. No vibrations and super stable
    Cons -
    1. Smaller front visor
    2. Some sound can be heard from exhaust tip due to vibrations during hard accleration as it is not fitted perfectly
Upgraded from pulsar 220f and is worth every time I ride

    Buying experience -
I had purchased this bike from Natwest Suzuki, Chennai on 8-7-23. The process was long as the approval for BS 6 II was pending at the time I booked. The owner himself was very helpful and entire registration and other process took 10 days
    Riding experience -
I have covered 350 kms in 10 days, mostly daily commute. So far so good. Handling is excellent
    Performance and looks -
Performance is awesome, this quarter litre motor pulls nicely to triple digit speeds and is butter smooth at 80-90 kmph range. No lags or struggle, the engine is smooth at 30 kmph even in 5th gear.
Look wise I feel front visor is smaller and makes bike look childish.
    Pros -
    1. Powerful engine
    2. Decent mileage
    3. No back/wrist/shoulder pain for a sports bike
    4. Pillion seat is comfortable compared to rivals
    5. LED headlamps are awesome
    6. Bluetooth connectivity is superb
    7. No vibrations and super stable
    Cons -
    1. Smaller front visor
    2. Some sound can be heard from exhaust tip due to vibrations during hard accleration as it is not fitted perfectly
Upgraded from pulsar 220f and is worth every time I ride

    Tips for other riders
