About Gixxer
The Suzuki Gixxer SF-FI, as the name indicates, is a fuel-injected version of the premium commuter motorcycle. It was unveiled earlier this year at the 2016 Auto Expo, along with the rear disc brake version of the Gixxer streetfighter.
While the new sticker job might be the only visual cue to set it apart from the regular version, the Gixxer SF-FI also gets an important technological update under the skin. Suzuki has armed the 155cc single-cylinder engine with a fuel-injection system in place of the standard bike’s carburettor. This should not only help the performance of the motorcycle, but also take care of the stuttering problem that plagued a few models of the carburetted version. Though Suzuki hasn’t announced the technical specifications of the Gixxer SF-FI, we can expect the engine to retain the power output of the carburetted version. Apart from this, Suzuki is also offering this bike with a rear disc brake.
The Suzuki Gixxer FI will be available only with the blue MotoGP-inspired livery. We can expect it to be around Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 more expensive than the standard Gixxer SF. It will compete with the Yamaha YZF-R15 and the Honda CBR150R.
