Fun to ride but uncomfortable
Santosh Subramanian
I got the rear drum brake model in 2015 and the first thing that stood out is the great handling. The power delivery is superb making it fun to ride for daily or occasional commute. The mileage is excellent and i generally got 40 to 55km depending on driving style. The bike is easy to maintain and doesn't demand too much if the servicing intervals are followed properly. The main negative and the most important at least for me was that the suspension and pillion are terribly uncomfortable even on low setting and thus i could never take this for longer rides over 100km. The headlight is a 35w bulb which has terrible throw during the nights and a big problem during night rides or commutes. Another important feature missing is the abs - which i felt was an important feature missing on this bike. I sold the bike in 2018. I would recommend going for tvs apache or bajaj ns as they offer better comfort, features, mileage and low-maintenance at the price point.

1) Buying experience was good.2) Riding experience is excellent.3) Looks great, mileage around 35-40 kmpl depends on the driver.4) You have to maintain it well. In paid servicing the charges vary from 250-800 rupees, depends where you are servicing it from.5) Pros- Looks(especially the twin exhaust), Handling and Performance.Cons- Spare parts availability, Pillion seat comfort, brakes and exhaust note.

Bike to own and be proud
Amit
Style head turner, dual exhaust has throaty output and looks superb
engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox engine is smooth and power is available on demand :) , currently managing to get near 50 kmpl with mostly street drive.
Ride quality & handling ride quality is awesome and confidence booster, handling is top notch , though it can get dicomforting for long rides since your body weight somewhat shifts to your hands.
Final words a game changer for suzuki and your daily ride.
Areas of improvement ground clearance , go very slow on indigenous brakers 😫especially with a pillion rider.
Front headlight is little inadequate.
Pros
engine performance, style, value for money
cons
a little discomfort

Riding experience and specially the handling in corners is superb along with a good road grip
6 years ago
Abhishek Singh
I have owned this bike (gixxer naked, bs 4) on 10th of march 2017 from deoghar, jharkhand. Till yet, i completed 10000 kms on semi highway and rural areas.
Riding experience and specially the handling in corners is superb along with a good road grip. Sweet grinding sound from the exhaust and the smooth engine give the confidence to punch the throttle. I rode it at the maximum speed of 127 kmph between deoghar to saraiyahat sh road.
Looks very edgy and the sculpted tank gives this bike a different look from hornet and fzs.
Lastly, the cons are in a numbers.
Talking about the service, i think if i have the instrument tools of servicing i will do it better than the service center workshop. Very very poor service specially in free service period. We all know the bike is very good but the poor maintenance affects its performance and the credit goes to the showroom and service center owner.
the stiffer pillion and riders a little bit. The plastics used in this are poor quality. Headlight beam is not sufficient for better view at night.
The day by day chain maintenance is very irritating.
And lastly the availability of part are comparatively costly and irregular.

My gixxer view

I have been riding the gixxer (2015 standard variant) for 3 years now and for more than 45,000 kms. The bike has been one of the most comfortable tourer as well as a rev ready sports counterpart. The cons 1. The seat is too short and becomes uncomfortable when a pillion joins in.2. There is an issue with the colour and this goes for many 2015 models.3. The gear shifter is pretty stiff and does take effort to pull or push depending on which gear you need to shift to.The pro's?1. The engine to be smooth and in this 3 year tenure never have i faced any issues with this sweet sounding 150cc engine.2. The brakes are on point.3. The tyres provide the best balance even in an emergency. All in all, i'd recommend the suzuki gixxer to anyone who is on a budget and is looking for a sport cum commuter mix.

Here is my review about gixxer after owning more than 2 years. Ride 15000kms above. Not fully satisfied with the bike.Chain sprocket ran out. Battery ran out. Have to change. Feel unsatisfied. Headlight is worst.Pillion seat is poor than any other bike. Riding quality is ok feels like roaring the road..Performance ok.

Malcolm D'souza

FYI - Using a slightly larger tyre may cut down on the exhaust scraping the ground at every speed breaker.
