My gixxer is 3 years old and in look as well as performance it's a good bike.Yet i am not comfortable with the sitting posture. It's designed for short commuting which it serves well. The breaking system, console infos are all really good. The pillion seat is not at all comfortable due to its height and the open ended grab rails gave me trouble twice with my footwear got hooked while i climbed down from the bike. Also i feel 250 cc engine capacity is needed.

    Suzuki gixxer review:

i had been looking for a bike in the 150 cc naked-bike segment since august 2014. I was planning to upgrade from caliber 115 (popularly known as "hoodibaba"). Till august 2014 the crown of the 150 cc segment was worn by yamaha fz/fz-s. But now that crown belongs to the gixxer. After observing its performance and reviews by experts and then its sales trend from september to december, i finally decided to buy this piece of beauty!

i am happy with the way my robin (that's the name i have given to my blue gixxer) performs on streets and even off-roads. I got it from tanishq suzuki, behala, kolkata for rs. 86996/- (On-road) on 15th december 2014. My feedback in a nutshell:

pro's1. Best in class performance: she builds up speed very easily and deceptively. Within no time, i am cruising at 85-95 kmph with no vibrations at all. It's only beyond 95 kmph that i feel some vibrations in the foot pegs. My top speed is 112 kmph.

    2. The instrument cluster is the best in class. Besides the usual meters and tell-tale lights, i really appreciate suzuki for providing gear indicator, shift indicator and a handy clock

    3. My robin looks beautiful with her sculpted tanks, slim tail and the superbike-like dual exhaust pipe.

    4. She's got a great pair of tires. The front mrf zapper 100/80-17 is good, but it's the rear mrf revz-m 140/60-17 that demands special attention. Paired with a stiff suspension, they give me the confidence to lean the bike around corners without the fear of either slipping or bouncing (like in pulsars). I cannot comment on the longevity of the tires as i have only clocked 1500 km so far. Any estimated longevity from the service center's end will be appreciated.

    5. The riding position is awesome. She has enough space for the rider to move around, to sit upright and ride like a commuter and even to scoop back and duck and ride like a racer.

    Con's:

    1. Brakes: the front brake is absolutely fine, good feedback, but rear drum brakes is a downer. When suzuki went on to snatch the crown from the fz-s they should've done everything better than the latter. Rear disc brakes are a necessity for this peppy performer. At least introduce a rear-disc variant of gixxer if not providing it as standard.

    2. Illumination: even if an experienced biker manages without rear disc brakes and rides fast, he can only do it at daytime. The illumination is just not up to the high expectations this bike has set for itself. I am surely getting a projector headlamp in future.

    3. The exhaust pipe chrome metal cover is loosely fitted. Even a slight push from the hand dislocates it and spoils the looks. It's fitted with nuts and bolts but only on one side. That's a disappointment.

    4. Please get me 6th gear!!! enough said. Suzuki totally know they should have given 6th gear.

Overall verdict good value for money. A game-changer in its class.

    Pros

engine, instrument cluster, styling, tires, ergonomics

    cons

brakes, illumination, fit & finish, absence of 6th gear

Style super but its should has a little improvement.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox engine performance is good and fuel economy is not much good its should be improved.

Ride quality & handling riding quality is good but the bike is not standing when we hit a sudden brake,it was skitting the rear brake needs to be disk.

Final words comparing to suzuki gixer sf this was a very very very exellent bike and the rate is also less but the engine pickup in suzuki gixer sf is not like suzuki sf but many of performance in suzui gixer sf are same like in the suzuki gixer.Thank you.

Areas of improvement the engine pickup and mileage alone wanted to be improved. Then it is the best bike in the world. Congrgulations for your future sucess. This review was made by a 14 years boy who has more intrest in the bike.L.Sriram prasath.

    Pros

i like the style and pickup of vehicle

    cons

i not like the fuel cosuption alone its ver less but it is very high many of them will use this bike

Style well if you look at, it resembles like yamaha fz. A few changes to fule tank and rear handrail has been done. All in all its what yamaha has already offered, but something that makes it a little more sporty is its twin exhaust with a ss mirror finish.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox the engine is really smooth, the best thing is acceleration and the thrust, i feel its better thhan fz.

Its been a 3 weeks that i bought this bike, getting a milage to aroung 45kmpl. I am running the bike only below 4500 rpm as per the manual up till first service.

Gearbox the gear seems really hard for few days, there is some thing suzuki has to do with the gear it feels like u almost have to ram the leaver to change the gear. Now that i have driven it for around 459 km, it seems to have smoothened a little.

Ride quality & handling ride quality for the driver is good, the suspensions are also very effective. But for the pillion driver its really not comfortable. I really love the handeling of the bike, you can easily maneuver with out any glitch.

Final words if you are looking for some thing sporty and travell alone then this is a really amaizing bike.

Areas of improvement gear, seat and sitting postures.

    Pros

    engineperformance, handling

    cons

    rideing quality, gear box

Suzuki Gixxer : Long Term Report 2

12 October 2015

After persuading my colleagues to let go of the Suzuki Gixxer for months now, I finally got to lay my hands on our favourite long term motorcycle. I welcomed the Gixxer with a 800km ride (Mumbai –Pune – Kaas – Pune – Mumbai – Malshej – Pune) over the weekend, before I...
