I thought Simple was just another EV startup, until I saw what they did with Wave.

Simple Energy had every reason to fail. Indian EV market is brutal - Ola, Ather, TVS, everyone is fighting. Most startups just launch one overpriced scooter and disappear. But Simple actually survived, fixed their One scooter issues, and now, instead of making a costly flagship again, they made something for us - for families in cities like Ichalkaranji, Kolhapur. That intent deserves respect first. Now about Wave.I saw it on BikeWale only; I haven't bought it yet. But the moment I saw the specs, I stopped scrolling. Why?Because they solved problems that big brands ignored.3 Features NO OTHER Scooter Has at This Price - This is the Best Part:1. 920mm LONGEST Seat in India: Not 800, not 850. 920mm. My family is 3 people, we actually need that. Rizta says it's family scooter, but the Wave literally has the longest seat.2. 70L Combined Storage: Under seat + more. They show 2 helmets go inside. In our place, that means school bag, groceries, everything goes. No other 1.1 lakh scooter gives you that.3. Twin Shock at Rear + 6.4kW Motor from Simple One: Everyone else gives monoshock, which jumps on bad roads. Simple gave twin shock absorbers for our roads. And they didn't put a weak motor - they gave the same 6.4kW PMS motor from their Rs 1.8 lakh One, with 59Nm torque. That's why 0-40 in 3.5 sec.3 Reasons to BUY it:1. Price vs Range is honest - Rs 1,09,999 for 110km to Rs 1,89,999 for 243km (Wave Plus). 6 variants, you choose battery as per your budget. VIDA VX2 gives 92km at same price.2. Built for family, not just for college kids. Low seat height 775mm, my mom can sit easily.3. Running cost Rs 0.20/km on the BikeWale calculator. In Ichalkaranji petrol is Rs 106, this is nothing.3 Reasons to THINK AGAIN:1. Service is still not in Ichalkaranji; the nearest is Kolhapur - Udyamnagar Road. If you live in village, this is a problem.2. Top speed 75kmph on S variants. If you daily go on highway to Sangli, you need Wave Plus which is 90kmph and costs more.3. No fast charging standard, charging takes 4-5 hours. Ather and Vida give faster options. My final verdict after reading everything - as a company, Simple deserves 5/5 for trying to make a real Indian family EV. As a scooter vs competitors like Rizta, iQube, Vida - it deserves 4/5. If they open service in Ichalkaranji, it becomes 4.5.I'm planning to visit Kolhapur showroom next week. Will update my review after the test ride.
