Re tb 350 honest 3 year review

Phagun Adhupiya
Bought it in Feb, 2014 after a months waiting but it was worth it. I guess, the waiting period has increased since then.
My story starts from 2012 auto-show where i saw my bird for the first time and had fallen for it. Was actually confused whether to go for 350 cc or 500 cc, i decided to go with lighter engine considering my pocket and fuel mileage at that time. I probably should have bought 500 cc. When you start riding bikes of these engines, you crave for more power. And that's where 350 limits you somehow. So, first advice is to choose bigger engine. Mileage hardly makes a difference when you ride bikes over 300 cc.
I use it for weekend getaways and long rides every 4-5 months. City ride is little difficult due to body type and bulkiness. Again, you can't blame bike alone, delhi ncr traffic is real culprit though.
Bike is extremely comfortable for long rides. It does give you a correct posture and you don't feel tired even after days long ride. Performance is good in terms of mileage (around 30kmpl for city and around 40kmpl for highway), pickup and braking. Engine performance is better if maintained in timely fashion. Things that need attention are battery, meter and headlamp.
I got all of them changed under warranty and have seen similar cases reported as well. It has projector headlamp and if anything goes wrong, entire light has to be changed. It can't be repaired.Replacement costs your around 6kinr. Same goes for meter, this is most faulty thing they are procuring. Again, single button is not working, entire meter needs replacement. It may damage even during rains/washing of vehicle. It again cost your pocket around 6kinr. Battery they give you with vehicle is not very reliable. If you're installing too many extra lights, fog lamps, strobe lights etc. It is advisable to get new heavy duty battery fixed from market.
But i would like to mention that staff is really cooperative and they makes sure experience riding this machine is exceptional.
Advisable to get service from authorized re service centers and it should be timely.
If you're not a keen rider, please don't buy. You may end up selling it in few months. You would have that love for machines to own it.

Hello guys, My very bad experience with royal enfield thunderbird 350 Very pathetic and very bad experience. At the time of buying every sales person said only good things regarding thunderbird But from last 1 year. I started facing battery draining issue and authorized service centers in (kandivali west) also not able to find the problem and some mechanics say its magnetic coil issue means within 2.5 years and only on 15000 km if we have to open the engine so why we buy royal enfield in compare to royal enfield other companies bikes its very good and maintenance also low. Please guys if you want to buy royal enfield then think twice to fifty times his name only royal and some looks but its very much poor bike.

The royal enfield thunderbird 350 is an ultimate riding pleasure. The buildup quality is awesome. With first 8 days of ownership and 400 km city commute , best bike for riding, comfort and city traffic. Overall riding experience is super. I feel the seat could have been better. It's one awesome cruiser to drive !! at times, we might feel the speedometer is bit shaking when we drive but it won't disturb our driving. We can literally feel the power & the comfort of the bike. It's truly a perfect bike for a long ride.

Decent bike

Sandeep Rathi
Thunderbird is a decent bike.
It does not have much power compared other 250cc-400cc bikes in the market(e.G. Ktm, bajaj, honda) so for those who expect much power from this 350 cc machine then you should not buy it.
Apart from power, this bike has many good and bad things.
Good things,
1. Console,
2. Head light with really bright and wide visibility
3. Tail led lamp is well designed but take care of it because once red cap of the tail led lamp is broken you have to replace whole module and it will cost many bucks.
4. Disk brakes are ok. I do not say great brakes..
5. Seat is for pillion and primary rider.
6. Good resell price.
Bad things,
1. Fuel indicator
2. Puncture is repair in rear tire is very stressful when tyre has to be placed again.
3. After 80 kph, bike vibrates and it increases further with the more speed but less then classic.
4. Gear box and chain... Not smooth as usual with re bikes.
Enjoy re...

Thunderbird-350 - after 10000kms

Firstly, royal enfield thunderbird is not a sports bike where people expects high pickup and mileage.
Riding experience -
I am driving this bike from last 2 years. And review is after 10000kms.
It is so comfortable even after driving 700km in a day i was not feeling tired.

3. Comfort - seating posture is good enough
4. Mileage - 33 in city , 38-39 on highway 300km in 7.6 litre petrol
5. Pillion comfort - has back rest
6. Led head lamp and tail lamp
7. Side stand indicator
8. Digital clock
9. Analogue speedometer
10. Rpm indicator
11. Pass switch
12. Disk brakes
13. Vehicle stability is good on highways due to heaviness
14. Smooth clutch
15. Fuel tank of 20l
16. Tyre - mrf tyres
17. Cloth guard at rear tyre
18. Maintenance cost - approx. 300rs

Hi guys,
One of my friend recently bought rayal enfield thunderbird 350 in April-2017 from teknik motorcycles ibblur village bangalore but from the purchase date it is getting some problem. It is getting off automatically and not getting start. He contacted to dealer but they are repairing that but after some time same problem has occurred. Again we have given to dealer but they said problem is solved but its not done. They are not giving any confirmation that problem will not be occurred. Even the person who was at delivery time he left the job. They are not ready to replace it i guess we have to go to consumer court for right justice. Owner is supporting here he is saying that they will pick vehicle if stopped anywhere. I think its not solution. We went to showroom and service centre several time within 4 months but problem is not solved.

Waiting period can be annoying with the enfield's . Riding experience is awesome it feels like you are inside the bike.
Service could be better by re.
Mileage is fine around 32 kmpl on the average city and highway conditions, thanks to the 20l large fuel tank you won't have to worry a lot .
Vibrations are also a point to consider above 90km/hr but you can reduce it a bit by modifying your handle bar and wearing gloves at long rides.Overall experience is good with this bike . At last a person own a royal enfield as you never buy it for a necessity you buy it to fulfil your desire.

Shalendra
Firstly, royal enfield thunderbird is not a sports bike where people expects high pickup and mileage.
Riding experience -
I am driving this bike from last 2 years. And review is after 10000kms.
It is so comfortable even after driving 700km in a day i was not feeling tired.
Pros -
1. Killing looks
2. Built - iron body
3. Comfort - seating posture is good enough
4. Mileage - 33 in city , 38-39 on highway 300km in 7.6 litre petrol
5. Pillion comfort - has back rest
6. Led head lamp and tail lamp
7. Side stand indicator
8. Digital clock
9. Analogue speedometer
10. Rpm indicator
11. Pass switch
12. Disk brakes
13. Vehicle stability is good on highways due to heaviness
14. Smooth clutch
15. Fuel tank of 20l
16. Tyre - mrf tyres
17. Cloth guard at rear tyre
18. Maintenance cost - approx. 300rs
per quarter for servicing - 2000/pa
19. Silencer is of good quality with awesome noise free sound.
20. Handle is comfortable too.
21. Air valve in tyres are of good quality and not even punctured once in 10000kms. Due to proper air pressure maintained in tyres.
Cons -
1. Vibrations on the handle
2. Rear disk brake is not upto the mark and acts like drum brakes.
3. Rear tyre drags sometimes
4. Gear box stucks sometimes and make noise
5. Head lamp is not too powerful - 55w only not good for highways

Do not buy royal enfield thunderbird 350

Jai Jain
Hi guys,
One of my friend recently bought rayal enfield thunderbird 350 in April-2017 from teknik motorcycles ibblur village bangalore but from the purchase date it is getting some problem.

Ride comfort is very good for long rides. Service reach is very good. Can feel bulky for city rides. But once you get used to the symphony of this bike you won't want to leave:). Vibration is intense at higher speeds, but at 80kmph it's perfect! if you want a cruiser then it's the best in its segment.
