Honest review with practical pros and cons.

1 month ago by Digvijay Gogoi2,346 views

Honest review. Took a long delivery period of almost 3 months, the problem is with then Royal Enfield dealership and slow production which failed to deliver the bike in their given waiting period. I was not a fan of royal Enfield before, because the 350's vibrate a lot and their engines were not refined like other brands such as Jawa etc. But after I rode meteor my view towards them change. It got no vibrations, even better then other brand bikes. The engine is much refined. Seating posture is comfortable and prevents back pain. You can ride hundreds of kilometer without breaks. The engine doesn't overheat and produces good amount of power a low rpm. Crushing at 100km/h at 5th gear is very smooth but no recommended beyond that as the engine struggles a bit. The mileage is quite good. I tested it and got around 39.2 km/l which is near equal to dealer claimed 41km/l . The looks of this bike is quite stunning with a neo-retro touch. The led DRL looks too stunning. The features are good. The turn by turn navigation works accurately and we got a USB charging port as well. Service and maintenance cost is average as the other 350 bikes of re. Conclusion Pros - comfortable seating posture, mileage is good, refined engine, strong dual cradle chassis, broader tires provides better grip, well balanced despite its heavy weight Cons - halogen headlamp and indicators, stiff back suspension , squeaking break noise, small pillion seat.

Tips for Royal Enfield Meteor 350

Properly maintenance and riding style will make this bike last long and more fuel efficient.

I use to like this bike very much since it's launch and after test drive, I booked one. Given token amount and fixed buying price in January. There was waiting of around 4 months which I have accepted. But after 2 months of waiting price hiked. Dealer demanded revised price at the time of delivery, said this was company policy!! Worst policy I have ever seen. Bikes are royal but company policy is not royal. The biggest irony is that, this was not told to me at the time of booking!!They have limitations in production, and for their limitations company punishing customer. Please deal cautiously during booking.

Very good bike, compared to all other royal enfield bikes. This one is best with low vibrations good comfort, and awesome looks. I have ridden 1000 km almost, I am facing a little mileage problem, getting only around 30-34 km/l. Overall when compared to java, the exhaust sound is good. No noise from engine, good for daily commutes and long riding very good.

Bike had a really classic look and RE has given good specifications. Comfortable riding is primary thing in this bike which is pretty good and navigation is additional which is really excellent from RE and performance is upto the expected level but mileage could have been better if it was around 40 km/l but it gives an average of around 35. Which is ok not bad. Awesome bike to ride.

Those who don't know what is Royal Enfield should test drive meteor, it was one of my wish list and comes true recently. Experienced a complete change in terms of mechanism, technicalities etc. Do not compare Royal Enfield with any other bike, it has his own specifications, while others are busy in copying Royal Enfield, the popularity is growing day by day.

I have waited for a long time after I had sold my himalayan for this motorbike. I have purchased stellar black. My registration number is py-02-q -8777. Tow things that annoy me much are 1) The right side mirror is shaking and does not stand in one place. 2) The suspension is stiff and I could feel every pothole hit my spine. I do not know why Royal Enfield has not used gas shocks. At least they could have used a better suspension. My old Royal Enfield 1980 model fitted with gas shocks are more comfortable than this. The prototype shown in the re advertisement has gas shock absorbers, but why the model which is sold does not have one?

I have bought fireball yellow variant. I received the bike in 20 days of booking and the buying experience was good. I always liked the appeal of RE but hated the riding experience because of the vibrations. When meteor was launched, I took the test drive and found the vibrations were gone, acceleration was quick and ride was comfortable. After purchasing the riding experience is satisfactory with the only con of having a stiffer suspension. The road presence of bike is great but people think its a thunderbird with yellow fuel tank. I mostly ride in city and I am getting fuel efficiency of around 30 km/l. After 500 km I took it for 1st servicing and they charged around 1200 Rs. Servicing experience was Okay. In my two months of usage here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1. No vibrations. 2. Great ride quality and amazing pick up. 3. Road presence. The bike has retro yet sporty looks. I think the standard fireball variant looks better than stellar and supernova. But that's just my opinion. 4. Family friendly unlike today's sports bikes with pillion seat situated 1ft above riders seat. Cons: 1. Noise from the fuel pump is loud and can be heard at low speeds. I checked on other meteors and they have this too. The servicing guy told that this is normal. But once you hear/notice it, it will always distract you. 2. Although the bike has fuel gauge but it takes time to show the correct (or approximate) reading and sometimes it fails to do so which makes it unreliable. 3. As mentioned before it has stiff suspension. you will feel every small bump on the road and pot holes should be avoided at all cost. 4. It is a 350 cc bike but the comfortable cruise speed on which you can ride with confidence is 90kmph. It could have been more.
