Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Metro Variant – Honest Rider’s Review (Mid Variant)If you’re looking for a bike that merges old-school thump with new-age swag, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Metro sits right in the middle of tradition and trend. I’ve ridden it enough to know where it hits the mark — and where it misses the shot.Design & BuildLet’s be honest — this bike looks sharp. The Metro variant gets alloy wheels, dual-tone colors, and a slightly more modern touch compared to the Retro. It’s got streetfighter vibes but doesn’t scream “aggression” like a Duke or Gixxer. It’s more like the guy who walks into a party wearing a leather jacket and classic boots — confident, but not loud. The fit and finish feel solid. The tank is muscular, and the compact tail section gives it a sporty silhouette. At 177 kg, it’s the lightest RE you can buy — and trust me, you feel that in city riding.PerformancePowered by the same 349cc J-series engine from the Classic and Meteor, it produces 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm. It’s not a speed demon — but that’s not what it’s built for. It’s smooth, torquey in the low end, and happiest cruising between 60–90 km/h.In traffic? Nimble. On twisties? Fun.On highways? Okay-ish.Push it above 100 km/h and you’ll start to feel the limits. It’ll get there, but you won’t enjoy keeping it there for long.Ride & HandlingHere’s where the Hunter Metro shines. It’s surprisingly agile for a Royal Enfield. The chassis is tight, cornering feels natural, and the upright stance plus mid-set footpegs give it a neutral feel — perfect for city riders. The suspension is decent for urban roads — absorbs most bumps without drama. But don’t expect it to glide over potholes like a Himalayan.Brakes & TyresDual disc setup with dual-channel ABS is standard. Braking is confident — though some might wish for a little more bite in emergency stops. Tyres (CEAT Zoom XLs on alloys) do a good job unless you're trying to be too ambitious on wet tarmac.Comfort & FeaturesThe seat is fine for short rides. Anything beyond 1.5–2 hours, and your backside will protest. It’s not a tourer — it’s a city slicker. The Metro gets a semi-digital console with Tripper Navigation optional (why optional, RE?). You get a USB charging port, decent instrument layout, but no real “techy” features. If you want a screen with a spaceship interface, look elsewhere.MileageReal-world mileage hovers around 35–40 km/l. Depends on how heavy your wrist is. Not bad at all for a 350cc thumper.Verdict – Who is this bike for?If you want a modern Royal Enfield that’s light, stylish, and city-friendly, the Hunter Metro hits the sweet spot. It’s for the urban commuter who wants heritage with a side of street cred — not for highway tourers or off-roaders.At its price point (₹1.7–1.8L ex-showroom), you’re paying for style, reliability, and brand value, not raw performance or cutting-edge tech.Pros:Great design and modern street appealLighter and more agile than typical REsProven 350cc engine with refined power deliveryDual-channel ABS, alloy wheelsGood for city ridingCons:Not ideal for touring or long-distance comfortHigh-speed stability is averageFeatures feel basic for the priceSeat comfort is just “meh” for longer rides

"Royal Enfield Hunter 350: A Stylish Urban Cruiser with Everyday Charm"
Pro
The 2025 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is a sharp, urban-focused roadster powered by a 349 cc J‑series engine (20 hp, 27 Nm) and now, for the first time in RE’s 350‑cc line-up, features a lighter assist‑and‑slipper clutch—ideal for smooth shifts in city traffic. It addresses prior stiffness with progressive rear springs, a lower, denser‑foam seat, revised handlebars, and 10 mm extra ground clearance via re‑routed exhaust—all enhancing comfort and handling. The mid/top variants include LED headlamp, Tripper navigation pod, and USB‑C fast charging, plus three fresh colors (Rio White, Tokyo Black, London Red) that inject youthful style. At around ₹1.5–1.82 lakh, it presents a compact, nimble, and confidence‑inspiring choice for beginners and commuters, though performance won’t match larger-bore bikes and pillion space remains modest.
